MU brings strongest squad to Malaysia

Right after the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa in the final round of the Premier League, the entire Manchester United (MU) team boarded a plane to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to prepare for the match against the Southeast Asian All-Star team.

Although playing right after the season ended, MU will bring their strongest squad to Malaysia. First team stars such as Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount, Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Amad Diallo, Alejandro Garnacho, Andre Onana... are all present.

The entire MU team boarded a private plane from Manchester (England) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

After a day on the plane, the entire MU team will arrive in Malaysia tonight, May 26, to prepare for a practice session to familiarize themselves with the pitch, a pre-match press conference, and sideline activities.

The match between MU and the Southeast Asian All-Star team will take place at 7:45 p.m. on May 28, at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Malaysia.

The Southeast Asian All-Stars squad includes many members of the Vietnamese national team, including coach Kim Sang-sik, who directly led the team in the match against MU, along with the best players Nguyen Hoang Duc, Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Van Vi and Nguyen Hai Long. Initially, Nguyen Quang Hai was also named, but then the midfielder born in 1997 withdrew to focus on the Hanoi Police Club.

MU's tour director Christoffer Komen shared: "You can count on seeing top stars. Leading the team will be captain Bruno Fernandes. Alejandro Garnacho and Casemiro will also be there. We will bring a great performance."

The sponsor of the MU tour also revealed that there was a clause in place to ensure that the "red half of Manchester" brought along the most famous players. Sharing with the media, Mr. Paul Kam said: "There is a contract between the club and me, which includes terms and measures for both sides to protect each other's interests."

MU's mainstays are all on their way to Malaysia to compete with the Southeast Asian All-Star team.

Despite finishing only 15th in the Premier League and second in the Europa League (losing 0-1 to Tottenham in the final), MU is still a big brand in the sports market.

The match against MU is a valuable opportunity for members of the Vietnamese team such as Hoang Duc, Duy Manh... to gain experience, before continuing their journey to the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers with the match against Malaysia at Bukit Jali Stadium, taking place on June 10.
