STO - On the morning of November 18, at the Provincial People's Committee, comrade Tran Van Lau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province held a meeting to listen to the Soc Trang Provincial Tax Department report and approve the plan to allocate the state budget revenue estimate for 2024 at the district level.
According to the Soc Trang Provincial Tax Department, the estimated implementation of the state budget revenue estimate in 2023 is 4,643 billion VND, reaching 105% of the estimate assigned by the Central and the province, equal to 93% compared to 2022. Total revenue minus land, lottery and dividends, after-tax profit is 2,640 billion VND, reaching 104.2% of the estimate, equal to 91.7% compared to the same period in 2022. The state budget collection task in 2023 is implemented in the context of a favorable socio-economic situation in the province compared to the same period in 2022, so the implementation of state budget collection in the locality in the year achieved positive results. In order to support businesses and people to recover and develop production and business, the province has also reduced and exempted taxes of about 245.6 billion VND in 2023.

Through analysis and assessment of local realities on the implementation of the state budget revenue estimates in 2023, the Provincial Tax Department has drafted a plan to allocate and assign the state budget revenue estimates for 2024 to collection units.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Tran Van Lau acknowledged the efforts of the Tax sector in implementing state budget collection, with results exceeding the assigned limit. The Tax sector needs to continue promoting the achieved results to successfully complete the set targets in 2024. Accordingly, the Tax sector needs to review the activities of production and business units, buying and selling services to collect enough taxes, not to lose the budget; periodically every 6 months, assess the budget collection situation in districts, towns and cities to grasp the collection situation, thereby adjusting the allocation and assignment of appropriate budget collection estimates.
