Monitoring the National Target Program for Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas in 2024

Ms. Pham Thi Bich Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Thuan province, spoke at the meeting.

It is known that after 3 years of implementing the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Bac Ai district, many positive results have been achieved. The total capital from 2022 to 2024 is over 44.7 billion VND, of which the central and local budget is over 29.8 billion VND, the remaining over 14.8 billion VND is credit loans and other capital sources.

From this allocated capital, the People's Committee of Bac Ai district has supported the construction of houses for 128 poor households with a cost of over VND 9.9 billion; supported job conversion for 500 households with a support level of VND 10 million/household; supported domestic water for 235 households and invested in centralized domestic water works in the communes. Thereby, more than VND 25.3 billion of central and local capital has been disbursed, reaching 84.81% of the plan; disbursed public investment capital of more than VND 19.7 billion, reaching 88.79% of the plan; disbursed career capital of more than VND 5.6 billion, reaching 73.28% of the plan. The rate of poor households in Bac Ai district has decreased by an average of over 5% annually, reaching and exceeding the assigned plan.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Pham Thi Bich Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Thuan province, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee and local authorities in implementing the program in the past time. At the same time, she emphasized that in the coming time, she requested the People's Committee of Bac Ai district to continue to effectively implement the program's capital, propagate and guide people to change crop structure, continue to innovate and develop appropriate forms of production organization, discover and popularize effective models and typical examples of poverty reduction for replication.
