On December 5, Thu Duc City Police said that the test results at a medical facility for the 49-year-old male lecturer were "no alcohol concentration in the blood". The alcohol concentration through breath measured immediately after the accident on the evening of November 28 was because he had tested probiotics for research and teaching purposes.

Accordingly, the investigation agency will base on the driver's blood test results to handle the case.

Previously, the male driver of a 7-seat car on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, when passing Do Xuan Hop Street for about 300 meters, caused a series of accidents with a 16-seat car and 3 motorbikes, injuring 4 people on the motorbikes. Of these, 3 victims suffered multiple injuries and were taken to Le Van Thinh Hospital, while the remaining person only suffered minor scratches.

The police then took the driver to headquarters, quickly tested the alcohol concentration in his breath, the results showed a level two violation - exceeding 0.25 milligrams to 0.4 milligrams/1 liter of breath.

The driver said he was a lecturer at a university in Thu Duc City. He confirmed that he did not drink alcohol and was completely sober when driving, but had previously tested probiotics for research purposes, so there was a possibility that there was alcohol in his breath.
