Teachers not only teach but also guide digital knowledge.
In the current context, students are no longer completely dependent on blackboards, white chalk or simply listening to lectures from teachers. Teachers are no longer the “only channel” to impart knowledge, but rather the ones who guide and guide students to explore and discover in the digital space with countless multi-dimensional sources of information.
Ms. Vu Thi Hong Nhung, Literature teacher, Phu Duc High School (An Bai commune, Hung Yen ) said that students today access social networks very early, they are sensitive to current events and have a need to find information.
According to Ms. Nhung, as a teacher, she always feels that she needs courage to answer students. Especially, with complicated issues that are not suitable for their age, she will guide them to temporarily put them aside, wait for more experience, more life experience. But if it is something that can help with cognition and skill development, she always encourages students to dig deeper to learn.
Empathy and sensitivity are indispensable qualities of a modern-day teacher. Digital teachers accompany students both in the classroom and online, where they share their thoughts and interests.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, Nguyen Duc Canh High School (Tran Lam Ward, Hung Yen), if used properly, social networks will become an effective connection channel between teachers and students. Many study and lesson exchange groups have been established, in which teachers and students participate in discussions.
“I monitor discreetly, only giving gentle advice when necessary. “Troubleshooting” students, especially teenage psychological issues, also requires tactful speaking like a friend so that they feel they are being shared and not monitored,” Ms. Hong shared.
Proactively improve digital capabilities
To serve the teaching work, many teachers proactively improve their IT skills, research and apply modern software and teaching support tools. Some teachers also explore and build lively electronic lectures, integrating videos , images and interactive exercises, helping students become more interested in learning and absorb knowledge more effectively.
At Phuc Khanh Primary and Secondary School (Phuc Khanh Commune, Hung Yen), Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen taught herself basic graphics to design lively games and lectures.
Ms. Quyen believes that the effects in PowerPoint software are no longer as attractive to students as before. Therefore, teachers need to proactively learn more design skills so that students can both learn and interact with teachers, actively remember and apply knowledge.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Quach Dinh Bao Primary, Secondary and High School (Tran Hung Dao Ward, Hung Yen), every day, students do not only learn through lectures in class. Many students will learn knowledge by themselves from specialized educational websites on the internet.
Therefore, some students have the ability to self-study ahead, learn faster, and even expand their knowledge. That requires teachers in charge of any subject to improve their knowledge every day.
“I have taught students who are extremely hard-working. They constantly expand their knowledge by reading free literature, psychology, and science books online. In addition, they also like to read good articles and commentaries from experts, as a source of material for their lessons in class. Some difficult problems, or technical terms that they do not understand clearly, they will come to class to discuss with the teacher. Therefore, we have to study a lot ourselves to answer questions and guide them in their learning journey,” Ms. Huong shared.
Students today are no longer unfamiliar with computer tools. Many students aged 12-13 are proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and know how to create attractive presentations. With such developments, teachers are forced to continuously learn and update their knowledge so that their lectures are not boring and outdated.
Ms. Ha Thi Thu Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen, said that teachers in the new era not only need to be good at their profession but also need to effectively exploit document and digital learning materials in the process of building lesson plans and electronic lectures. Teaching methods and forms need to be flexibly innovated, combining direct and online classes, and applying technology to teaching.
Therefore, teachers need to take advantage of cyberspace to support students remotely, especially in activities such as school psychological counseling and school social work. Encouraging students to proactively apply digital transformation achievements in learning both inside and outside of school is an inevitable trend.
Along with that, teachers must guide students to effectively exploit open educational resources, electronic libraries, green libraries... thereby contributing to building a modern, friendly learning environment, continuously connecting students, teachers and digital knowledge.
