Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung, a Literature teacher of the HOCMAIeducation system, said that the Literature test under the new general education program not only assesses knowledge but also focuses on students' presentation skills and coherent thinking. To achieve the best results, candidates need to pay attention to key points when taking the test.

First, you need to allocate your time in a balanced and reasonable manner, in which, spend about 25-30 minutes on the Reading Comprehension section (4 points) to read the text carefully and answer fully; the Writing paragraph section (2 points) should also take 25-30 minutes and finally, prioritize 55-60 minutes for the Argumentative Essay (4 points) to develop in detail and thoughtfully.
Second, when starting to do the test, candidates need to read the question carefully, paying special attention to important keywords. These keywords provide information about the operation requirements (state, explain, analyze, feel, present...), the form (paragraph or essay, how long), and the subject and scope of the question. Determining the correct focus of the question will help you stay on track and avoid going off topic.
Third, candidates should try to comply with the requirements on length (number of words) for paragraphs and essays; present the essay to the point, answer concisely and express clearly. After completing the essay, do not forget to check again for errors, especially presentation errors to ensure that all questions have been answered completely and each sentence has presented all the ideas required by the question. If you find any shortcomings, please add them at the end of the essay, clearly stating which sentence or section you are adding, instead of inserting them into an existing section.

Paying more specific attention to each type of question, Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung said that for the text comprehension question type, candidates need to read the text slowly and carefully, and at the same time identify the type, genre of the text, main content and outstanding formal features. Reading comprehension questions need to be answered briefly, possibly in bullet points, but must ensure full ideas. In particular, there will be questions related to Vietnamese Practice knowledge (accounting for about 1-1.5 points), especially knowledge of rhetorical devices, students should pay attention to systematizing this knowledge in the secondary school years.
For the essay writing section, clearly present your opinion on the topic (literary or social), provide appropriate arguments and evidence to clarify, avoid paraphrasing or summarizing the plot. Literary essays need to clarify both the content and artistic aspects of the work, with the level of intensity and depth depending on the requirements of the topic. Social essays must have specific evidence, lessons and solutions must be specific, feasible, and appropriate, avoid general presentations or empty appeals, and quickly outline the system of ideas on the draft before writing the complete essay.
Regarding the Math exam, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong noted that the general trend in the new general education program is to increase practical Math and applied Math. In which, the problems will be related to practical situations such as calculating costs, interest rates, areas, volumes of objects in life, speed, distance, percentages, statistics, and probability. Therefore, candidates need to practice converting from the language of life to the language of Mathematics and vice versa, and at the same time read the questions carefully to extract data and determine the requirements, do not be afraid of large numbers or decimals.

In addition, candidates also need to pay attention to test-taking skills in the direction of doing well the easy questions first. Questions about statistical probability, solving equations, systems of equations, simplifying expressions, basic functions or calculations related to geometry, the first ideas of plane geometry are often the "piece of cake" to get points, so try to make sure to do these parts absolutely correctly.
Also, focus on your strengths. If you are confident in Algebra, complete the Algebra section carefully. If geometry is your forte, spend time on it, and make sure you don't leave any questions blank.
To best prepare for the English exam, Mr. Nguyen Trung Nguyen advises candidates to spend the last days of review to fill in the “knowledge gaps” so that they can complete the highly classified questions. To do this, students should spend time doing the test questions prepared based on this year’s sample questions. After completing each question, check carefully to see which questions you got wrong and which grammar, vocabulary or pronunciation points you need to reinforce.

Regarding writing skills, Mr. Nguyen noted that candidates need to grasp important sentence structures such as conditional sentences, comparative sentences, declarative sentences and reading comprehension skills. With the new question-setting method, previous tips are almost not applicable, instead, students need to fully understand the passage and the only way is to translate it into Vietnamese to be able to do these reading comprehension questions.
“Practicing questions helps you consolidate the necessary knowledge. You don’t need to do much, from now until the exam, just be serious with about 4 to 5 questions. For each question, pay attention to the questions that are not within the scope of knowledge and remember them after checking the answers. Be careful with silly mistakes so that you don’t lose points when taking the exam,” Mr. Nguyen shared.
