Báo Công thươngBáo Công thương24/06/2024

On June 24, the Vietnam National Sanitation and Plant Quarantine Information and Enquiry Point (SPS Vietnam) sent a document to the Plant Protection Department ( Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development ) regarding Japan's proposal to amend the maximum residue limit (MRL) for agricultural chemicals.

Đối với hoạt chất Benthiavalicarb-isopropyl, với hành hoa (bao gồm cả tỏi tây), Nhật Bản đề xuất giảm MRL từ 0,7 ppm xuống 0,5 ppm
For the active ingredient Benthiavalicarb-isopropyl, in green onions (including leeks), Japan proposes to reduce the MRL from 0.7 ppm to 0.5 ppm

Specifically, the Vietnam SPS Office received notices No. G/SPS/N/JPN/1266, G/SPS/N/JPN/1265 and G/SPS/N/JPN/1264 from Japan regarding the proposal to amend the MRL levels for the active ingredients: Isopyrazam; Hexaconazole and Benthiavalicarb-isopropyl.

For the active ingredient Isopyrazam, for vegetables of the nightshade family (except tomatoes, sweet peppers, and eggplants), Japan proposed to increase the maximum residue limit (MRL) from 0.09 ppm to 1 ppm; for peaches, it proposed to increase the MRL from 5 ppm to 6 ppm; for nectarines, it proposed to increase the MRL from 0 to 6 ppm.

For the active ingredient Hexaconazole, for vegetables of the nightshade family (except tomatoes, sweet peppers and eggplants), Japan proposed to increase the MRL from 0 to 0.2 ppm; for peaches, the proposed initial MRL is 0.7 ppm.

For the active ingredient Benthiavalicarb-isopropyl, for green onions (including leeks), Japan proposes to reduce the MRL from 0.7 ppm to 0.5 ppm; for eggplant and nightshade vegetables (except tomatoes and sweet peppers), it proposes to reduce the MRL from 2 ppm to 1 ppm; for lemons and limes, it proposes to reduce the MRL from 1 ppm to 0.7 ppm; for spinach and herbs (except watercress, chives, parsley stems and leaves, and celery stems and leaves), it proposes to increase the MRL from 0 ppm to 10 ppm.

Thus, it can be seen that Japan proposes to loosen the MRL level for the active ingredients: Isopyrazam, Hexaconazole; but tighten it for the active ingredient Benthiavalicarb-isopropyl.
