The difference comes from the main character…
Different from the usual motif of historical dramas – where the female lead is always beautiful and easily favored – “Qi Suu Wu Yan – Broken Mirror Recovers” tells a paradoxical story about an empress who was abandoned because of her appearance and was wrongly accused.
That is Chung Ly Xuan, also known as Chung Vo Diem - a woman with a "flawless" face but possesses a bright heart and extraordinary courage. She used to be the right-hand man who helped King Qi govern the country, pacify the people, and protect the country... However, just because of a false accusation of "giving birth to a monster", she was deposed, confined in the cold harem, and even turned her back on by her husband.
But in that darkness, Chung Ly Xuan did not collapse but silently observed, endured, step by step sought the truth, waited for the opportunity to overthrow the forces manipulating the court, restore justice for herself and demand justice for her swapped child years ago.
