Major Tran Quang Quy grew up in the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police force. After being promoted to the grassroots level by his superiors - in December 2019, at Tay Loc Ward Police Station, Major Tran Quang Quy always completed his tasks well, and was recognized by local leaders and the Tay Loc Ward Police Command.

Late one day in early May 2025, Major Tran Quang Quy and the local security forces organized a night patrol. At nearly 3 a.m., when arriving in front of house number 8 Tu Xuong Street, Mr. Quy and the local security forces of Tay Loc Ward discovered a suspicious subject related to security and order.

“The subject saw us and immediately ran into Alley 8, Tu Xuong Street. Realizing that the subject was behaving abnormally, I immediately chased him for about 150m until he reached house number 6/8 Tu Xuong, where he was approached. Through searching the subject’s pocket, I and the local security force discovered a Saigon cigarette case containing a white plastic bag containing 44 red tablets and 1 blue tablet; a plastic bag containing white solid crystals; a white plastic bag containing 2 orange tablets and 1 gray tablet,” said Major Tran Quang Quy.

During the initial investigation, the suspect stated his name was Tran Van Thi (born in 2000), residing at 4D/8 Tu Xuong, Tay Loc; he had a previous conviction for illegal possession of narcotics. Thi stated that the white solid crystals and tablets were drugs that he bought in Quang Tri province for 8 million VND. The results of the police's examination showed that all of the above substances were drugs.

Another time, after receiving a report from a resident of Hoa My Street, Tay Loc Ward about a stolen motorbike, Major Tran Quang Quy quickly began investigating and verifying, determined to find the thief soon. “The person who lost the motorbike was a young woman, who left her burgundy Honda Vison motorbike with license plate 75F1 - 652... in front of her house. When she returned, she discovered that the motorbike was gone, so she panicked and went to Tay Loc Ward Police to report it,” Major Tran Quang Quy informed.

Through verifying initial sources and screening, Major Tran Quang Quy identified the subject, so he and his colleagues in the unit isolated the area, extracted camera footage of the routes the subject passed through and discovered the suspect was Le Nghia (born in 1996), residing at 27 Ton That Canh, An Dong ward, Thuan Hoa district.

“My colleagues and I coordinated with An Dong Ward Police to go to the suspect’s house. However, the suspect barricaded himself in the house and refused to open the door. My colleagues and I persistently persuaded and persuaded him, and he eventually opened the door. We arrested the suspect and brought the evidence to Tay Loc Ward Police to investigate and clarify. With undeniable evidence, the suspect confessed to all of his thefts,” Major Tran Quang Quy shared.

Recognizing the achievements of Major Tran Quang Quy, Hue City Police, Phu Xuan District Police, Tay Loc Ward leaders unexpectedly rewarded the collective and individual Major Quy for persistently fighting and promptly arresting Tran Van Thi for illegally storing and using drugs; having achievements in the fight against crime in Phu Xuan District...
