Maintain security and order to serve socio-economic development

With the motto of “Crime prevention associated with building a developed society, serving the people”, the police force of the whole province has quickly started to implement the task according to the 2-level local government model. Recently, after only 23 hours of investigation, the Criminal Police Department (Provincial Police) arrested Nguyen Van Bao (born in 1992, registered permanent residence in Nghe An province), the subject who robbed a branch of the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development ( BIDV ) in Yen Thanh ward, Uong Bi city (now Uong Bi ward). Before that, Bao wore a mask, used a knife to break into the transaction office of the BIDV Bank branch, threatened the staff, robbed about 400 million VND and then fled on a motorbike without a license plate. Using professional measures, the Criminal Police Department quickly verified, arrested the perpetrator and recovered more than 368 million VND while he was hiding in the Yen Trung lake area.

Nguyen Van Bao, the suspect who robbed the BIDV Bank branch in Uong Bi ward (formerly Yen Thanh ward, Uong Bi city) was arrested 23 hours after committing the crime.

With differences in regional culture and educational level, this is an environment where crimes of gambling, illegal credit, drugs, robbery, theft, or intentional injury due to daily conflicts and disagreements can easily arise.

Proactively prevent crime, "not following behind criminals", unify comprehensive actions from the Provincial Police to the Commune Police. In particular, right from the first days of implementing the 2-level local government apparatus and merging communes and wards; the Provincial Police's professional departments have proactively coordinated with the police of communes, wards, and special zones to closely maintain the work of fighting, preventing, and reducing crime. A series of cases have been verified, investigated, and clarified in a short time. Criminals with signs of gang activity and networks were dismantled and arrested as soon as they were formed.

The Criminal Police Department has reported to the leaders of the Provincial Police to advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant departments, branches, and authorities of communes, wards, and special zones to be close to the people, coordinate with the grassroots police and professional departments of the Provincial Police to improve the effectiveness and quality of propaganda work, instruct people to be vigilant against the tricks of all types of criminals; mobilize the entire political system to participate in preventing and effectively fighting all types of crimes.
