Overwhelmed with emotion at the Tien Phong Golf Championship - One Country Gala Night, Mr. Ngo Ngoc Binh (75 years old, residing in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City), a former Saigon Special Forces soldier, could not hide his joy and emotion. For him, this was not only a reunion with his comrades from the time of bombs and bullets, but also a reminder of the gratitude of today's generation towards those who silently sacrificed for the Fatherland.

Recalling his youthful days, Mr. Binh said: In 1966, at the age of 16, with a burning revolutionary fire in his heart, he said goodbye to his family and asked an acquaintance to guide him to the war zone. Joining Team 10 of the Saigon Special Forces, Mr. Binh was trained in special forces and artillery techniques for 6 months before returning to Saigon to work.
In early 1968, right before Tet Mau Than, he was captured by the enemy and imprisoned in the hell on earth of Con Dao for nearly 10 years. Despite being physically shackled, his revolutionary will was never subdued. On April 30, 1975, when the country was completely liberated, Mr. Binh was released and returned to the arms of his homeland.
More than half a century later, amid the jubilant atmosphere celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Mr. Binh sadly confided: “Seeing the people living in peace and happiness, I am satisfied. But I will never forget my comrades, who have forever laid down their lives, dedicating their youth to today's independence.”
