After the flash flood in the early morning of May 30, Huu Khuong Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Tuong Duong District, Nghe An ) was devastated. Mud covered the school yard, tables and chairs were piled up in chaos, many areas were severely damaged. |

Mr. Nguyen Duc Son, Principal of Huu Khuong Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, said: “The flood happened so suddenly that the school was unable to handle it. The flood damaged three wooden dormitories; books, school supplies, and teachers were submerged in mud... The damage was huge, but luckily when the flood happened, students were off school so there were no casualties.” |

The flash flood caused heavy damage to Huu Khuong commune. The flood swept away 14 houses, of which 3 were completely lost; destroyed 2 iron bridges, damaged the railings of 2 hard bridges, and caused serious landslides on the road leading to the commune center. In addition, the flood also caused 6 boats to sink, 10 fish cages to be swept away, and buried many areas of rice and crops, affecting the lives of the people. |
