Hanoi won the first place in the 1st Hanoi Open Wushu Tournament in 2025

After a week of exciting competition, the first Hanoi Wushu Open 2025 officially ended on May 31. As expected by experts, the host team Hanoi excellently won the overall championship with an outstanding achievement of 20 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 11 bronze medals.

Taking place from May 25 to 31, the tournament, held for the first time, attracted nearly 200 athletes from 16 provinces, cities and sectors in the Northern region.

Hundreds of matches took place with high professional quality, bringing beautiful, dramatic and emotional competitions.

At the end of the tournament, the Hanoi delegation won first place with 20 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 11 bronze medals. The Lang Son delegation ranked second with 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 3 bronze medals. The Thanh Hoa delegation ranked third with 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 6 bronze medals.

Mr. Phan Quoc Vinh, Head of Wushu Department of Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center (Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports), and also coach of the national wushu team, said: The first Hanoi Open Wushu Tournament is not only a playground for athletes but also a "nursery" for high-performance sports - where young talents are discovered, tested and nurtured to move towards bigger arenas in the future.

"From this year, the tournament will be held annually to create more competition opportunities and improve the expertise of wushu athletes nationwide," Mr. Phan Quoc Vinh emphasized.
