For many years, Mr. Dang Van Tam has been keeping up with the activities of the association members, participating in law-making, policy review, taking the lead in legal aid and detailed legal advice for all subjects. Since then, the association's activities have become "a trusted address for the people", contributing to improving legal knowledge, legal awareness, and reducing complaints and denunciations in the area.

Carrying out the task of disseminating, popularizing,educating the law, providing new legal knowledge to the community, the Cho Moi District Lawyers Association coordinated with local departments, branches and the Department of Justice to deploy the model of "Dissemination of law, legal advice and legal aid in the community of hamlets and villages". Based on the content and nature of the case, the lawyer members provided specific instructions, pointed out the nature of the matter, the problem, and the "path of the law". Thereby, people's understanding and awareness of the law were raised, and law enforcement and compliance with the law became easier. Not stopping there, he coordinated with law firms and law offices to provide legal advice and direct legal aid to the people; especially providing free legal aid to 220 poor and near-poor households, policy families, and vulnerable groups in 3 communes: An Thanh Trung, Binh Phuoc Xuan, and Kien Thanh.

To bring the law into life, this model is replicated in two towns, Cho Moi, My Luong and Long Dien A commune, Binh Phuoc Xuan... Here, the organization "Legal advice and legal aid points", lawyer members provide legal advice, legal aid and participate in mediation at the grassroots level. “This is a place to provide legal guidance and answers, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of people, especially the vulnerable. Legal advice points not only provide and apply the law to specific cases and incidents, but also contribute to raising awareness of law enforcement, resolving complaints and petitions in the area. From October 2023 to August 2024, the town received 28 citizens, 18 petitions and recommendations, and processed all of them. Regarding the 15 petitions and recommendations, land disputes were all considered and resolved in accordance with the law,” said Pham Thanh Liem, Vice President of the My Luong Town Lawyers Association.

“With legal knowledge and the model being implemented, the lawyer members based on the content, nature of the case and through understanding the subject, have provided effective legal advice and legal aid. Through guidance, legal explanation, successful mediation will reduce the above reflections and complaints”.

“In carrying out its duties, the District Lawyers Association regularly coordinates with local departments and agencies to disseminate and popularize the law, focusing on legal aid and legal advice for subjects, especially at the grassroots level. Along with strengthening the organization and developing members, the work of law-making and policy and law criticism is included in the association's quarterly and annual action plans. In addition to inspecting and supervising the proposed work, I myself take the lead in implementing the case. From this regulation, the quality of activities of the Cho Moi District Lawyers Association has increased significantly, and has been recognized and rewarded by local leaders, the Provincial Lawyers Association, and the Vietnam Lawyers Association,” said Mr. Dang Van Tam.

In Cho Moi district, there are 18 "Legal advice and legal aid points" with the participation of 15 commune and 3 town lawyers' associations, with 42 lawyer members providing legal advice and legal aid. In 2023 and 2024, 826 cases of civil, land, marriage and family, administrative procedures, criminal proceedings, etc. will be received. At the same time, 840 citizens will be directly provided legal advice and legal aid, including 134 poor households, policy families and vulnerable groups. Mr. Dang Van Tam alone will handle 46 cases free of charge. All cases will be resolved according to the Charter of the Vietnam Lawyers' Association.
