During this time, visitors to the relic site will only be allowed to visit and stop at the waiting area at the foot of the mountain, and will not be allowed to move up to the Flagpole to ensure absolute safety during construction.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh, Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information, Deputy Head of the Monument Management Board of Dong Van district, the temporary suspension of receiving visitors to the flagpole is a necessary requirement to serve the work of preserving, renovating and upgrading one of the sacred symbols in the northernmost part of the country. This is not only a regular activity in the work of preserving heritage, but also a careful preparation to welcome a large number of visitors in the upcoming peak tourist season, while preserving the solemn and sustainable beauty of this special national monument.
Located at an altitude of 1,470 m above sea level, 24 km from Dong Van town, Lung Cu Flagpole is an indispensable destination in the journey to explore the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark. The flagpole is built to imitate the Hanoi Flagpole, with a total height of 34.85 m, standing out with a bright red national flag of 54 square meters - symbolizing the 54 ethnic groups living together in solidarity on the territory of Vietnam.
The special feature of the structure is the octagonal column body, with eight bronze drum faces and eight green stone reliefs, depicting the historical stages of the nation, while also reflecting the culture, customs and practices of the ethnic minority communities of Ha Giang. Below the column foot is a sturdy square base, symbolizing the solid foundation of the country.
On November 18, 2009, Lung Cu Flagpole was officially ranked as a National Historical Relic and Scenic Spot by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Since then, this place has not only attracted hundreds of thousands of domestic and foreign visitors each year, but also become an indomitable symbol of territorial sovereignty, evoking national pride and the will to rise of the ethnic people at the headland of the Fatherland.
The restoration and embellishment of Lung Cu Flagpole this time is an important step in the work of preserving cultural heritage, ensuring that the relic continues to promote its historical, cultural and tourism values in the future. This is also an opportunity for the authorities to review, renovate the landscape, upgrade the infrastructure system, ensuring conditions for serving tourists in a more professional, civilized and sustainable manner.
