Hanoi issues Plan to implement activities of "Humanitarian Month"

Accordingly, the Plan was issued with a series of activities to demonstrate the role and responsibility in humanitarian work, widely propagate humanitarian values ​​among all classes of people, the Movement "Good people, good deeds - Joining hands to build a compassionate community", gradually changing awareness of humanitarian work.

On this occasion, agencies, units and philanthropists joined hands to support resources to help the poor and people in difficult circumstances, contributing to social security work in the city and activities launched by the Central Association.

The City People's Committee requires that humanitarian activities be organized to ensure practicality, efficiency, transparency and suitability to the actual situation of each locality. In particular, it is necessary to promote the core, bridging and coordinating role of the Red Cross, integrating activities to create effects, spreading to all classes of people, towards the community.

Humanitarian Month 2025 will be implemented until May 31, 2025, of which the 2 peak weeks will take place from May 8 (International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day) to May 19, 2025 (Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, Founder and first Honorary President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society).

Implementing the 2025 Humanitarian Month, Red Cross Associations at all levels mobilized funds to ensure resources to organize humanitarian activities (during the Humanitarian Month Launch Ceremony, units and benefactors registered and committed to supporting more than 17 billion VND for humanitarian activities).

Key activities include: Giving gifts to households in difficult circumstances; visiting, discussing, sharing experiences in implementing the Humanitarian Booth model, Humanitarian Residential Cluster; organizing a music night to honor those who are kind-hearted for the community.

Along with that, there are activities to visit and give gifts to families of heroic Vietnamese mothers, families of martyrs, war invalids, veterans, and former youth volunteers in difficult circumstances; and give gifts to people in difficult circumstances in the area.

In addition, Hanoi will increase the organization of medical examination programs, health consultation, medicine provision, and gift giving for the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and disabled students...

The city will organize 11 training courses on first aid knowledge and skills; support the construction and repair of at least 30 Red Cross houses (VND 50 million/household); support the livelihoods of 30 poor and disadvantaged households (VND 15 million/household). In particular, the goal is to mobilize 300 people to register to donate human tissues and organs; implement humanitarian works and projects of the Association, and support 300 or more humanitarian addresses.

Notably, implementing the Plan of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Hanoi will send forces to participate in the "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love" in the provinces and cities of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Dong Thap, Ca Mau, Can Tho with many meaningful activities: Organizing incense offering ceremonies to commemorate heroic martyrs at cemeteries and historical sites; organizing humanitarian activities, giving gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy families, families of war invalids and martyrs, people with meritorious services, supporting house building, supporting livelihoods, giving bicycles, giving scholarships to students in difficult circumstances who excel in their studies...

The City People's Committee assigned the City Red Cross Society to be the unit in charge of advising on plans to deploy and effectively and substantially carry out activities associated with social security tasks, movements, programs, and humanitarian campaigns of the Capital and the whole country.

The Association is responsible for proactively calling for and mobilizing all resources from organizations, individuals, businesses, philanthropists, etc. to participate in supporting resources to organize humanitarian and charitable activities, take care of people's health, and implement good policies for the poor and people in difficult circumstances.

At the same time, coordinate well with the city's departments and branches to organize activities to propagate humanitarian values, promote and spread the spirit of solidarity and mutual love in the community.

Along with that, direct the Red Cross at all levels to develop plans and mobilize resources to implement the Humanitarian Month in 2025 with good results.
