
Project VIE085, approved by the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee in Decision No. 3222/QD-UBND dated June 14, 2023, achieved many encouraging results with the establishment of 27 clubs and attracting 1,444 members.
In the period of 2022-2025, all 27 clubs will coordinate with the commune and ward health stations to conduct periodic health check-ups for members. Spiritual activities are focused on when all 27 clubs have art troupes, regularly practicing and performing in activities and exchanges, especially on major holidays of the country and the capital. In addition, the clubs maintain activities to visit and encourage members when they are sick or encounter sudden difficulties.
In terms of livelihood support, up to now, 410 members have received loans, helping to improve income for members and their families; interest payments are made in full, promptly and on time. In particular, each club arranges at least 10 volunteers to provide regular care twice a week for at least 5 elderly people with long-term illnesses, supporting tasks such as cleaning the house, chatting, measuring blood pressure, weight and reminding them to take medicine...
The Clubs also actively support policies such as coordinating to organize periodic health check-ups, supporting the declaration of purchasing health insurance cards for the elderly from 70 to under 80 years old, supporting the declaration of longevity celebrations, birthday wishes and installing IHanoi software.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Hanoi Association of the Elderly Nguyen The Toan affirmed that the Intergenerational Self-Help Club has been and is an effective model, meeting the diverse needs of the elderly, helping them live happily, live healthily, and promote their role in the community.
Recognizing and praising the efforts and enthusiasm of the Executive Board and Club members, Mr. Nguyen The Toan requested that all levels of the Association and Clubs need to enhance the quality of activities so that the Club can be truly effective and sustainable; diversify activities, encourage the Club to incorporate new contents such as digital transformation, green transformation and startups suitable for the elderly and intergenerational to increase attractiveness and practical application...

At the conference, the Hanoi Association of the Elderly awarded 6 groups and 6 individuals with achievements in implementing Project VIE085. Elderly delegates from communes and wards also shared their experiences in implementing the project, the results, benefits achieved as well as difficulties in supporting disadvantaged elderly people.
