Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman and General Director of Vingroup Nguyen Viet Quang emphasized that the National Exhibition Fair Center is a national key project in the field of trade and services, replacing the old Exhibition Center in Giang Vo.
The project's groundbreaking not only demonstrates the Group's desire to contribute to an international destination for leading global trade and exhibition events, similar to the model of Dubai Expo (United Arab Emirates), Frankfurt (Germany), Fiera Milano (Italy)... but also creates an important foundation to create an international environment for domestic and foreign businesses to exchange, connect, promote trade, and at the same time be a new driving force for the economic growth of the capital Hanoi.
With a total scale of up to 90 hectares, among the Top 10 largest exhibition centers in the world, the Complex is expected to be a "new wonder" of the Capital, initiating a vibrant "Expo" economy, comparable to global trading centers.
The project is located right at the Northeast gateway of Hanoi, the center of important traffic arteries to the provinces including roads, airways and metro that have been planned. From the "diamond coordinates" of the project, it only takes 15 minutes to move to Noi Bai International Airport, 5 minutes to Hoan Kiem and Tay Ho districts via Tu Lien bridge (under construction), adjacent to the future metro line connecting Dong Anh with other locations in Hanoi city. Currently, the project is conveniently connected to the center of Hanoi via the extended National Highway 5, Truong Sa road and Dong Tru and Nhat Tan bridges.
The indoor exhibition hall is the focal point of the complex, bearing the image of the Golden Turtle God - one of the four sacred spirits in Eastern culture, associated with the legend of the Golden Turtle God protecting the "spiritual land of talented people" Co Loa, Dong Anh.
The exhibition space is built under the sturdy Kim Quy statue, divided into 9 sub-areas with an area of over 10,000m2/sub-area and a main hall of over 7,000m2.
Supporting the indoor exhibition space are modernly equipped functional facilities such as reception rooms, conference rooms, restaurants..., meeting the needs of organizing exhibitions in all fields and industries.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that, recognizing the role, position and importance of the project, implementing the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, the leaders of Hanoi have focused on directing the acceleration of procedures for preparing investment for the project. The city has promptly reported to the Government, the Prime Minister and central ministries and branches to remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing planning, approving investment policies, approving investment projects, etc. Up to now, the project has met the conditions to start construction.
In the coming time, Hanoi city will continue to accompany and support the investor in implementing the project, with the goal of putting the project into operation as soon as possible. In addition, the city will accelerate the investment progress in developing urban transport infrastructure and the system of bridges across the Red River such as Tu Lien bridge, Ring Road 3 in the North of the city, Ring Road 4 - Capital Region, urban railway lines, etc. to create synchronous connections between the National Exhibition Center project and neighboring areas, effectively exploit the value of the project and contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the capital.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that the Ministry is committed to coordinating with Hanoi city and the investor throughout the project implementation process and effectively operating the Center's facilities in accordance with current regulations.
