Hanoi is not only an attractive destination for foreign investors

Baoquocte.vn. Hanoi continues to affirm itself as a destination for foreign investors, attracting 1.3 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 7 months, up 65% over the same period in 2023.

Of these, 143 new projects were registered with a capital of 1.1 billion USD; 102 increased investment capitals with 138 million USD; 118 foreign investors contributed capital and purchased shares with a total of 77 million USD.

At the meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee on August 17, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized: "The trust of international investors in Hanoi's investment environment is a testament to the city's strong reforms in management, improving the business environment and promoting investment.

Hanoi is not only an attractive destination for foreign investors but also an important economic and financial center of the region and the whole country."

According to the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, in the context of globalization and rapid technological development, the semiconductor industry has become an important pillar in the digital economy.

In recent times, Vietnam has been attracting many large corporations in the semiconductor industry from the US, Korea, Japan, European countries, etc. to come and learn and invest.

And Hanoi, with its strategic location and many unique advantages, has great potential and opportunities to develop and attract investment in the technology sector, including the semiconductor industry.

In the last months of the year, the world situation is forecast to continue to fluctuate in a complex and unpredictable manner; the domestic economy continues to recover positively but still faces many difficulties.

Therefore, to achieve the highest goals, Mr. Le Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, said that the city will continue to focus on solutions to control inflation, ensure stability and maintain economic development, actively organize to remove difficulties for production and business, effectively implement preferential policies (reduction and extension of taxes, fees, interest rates for businesses) to promote new growth drivers, digital economy, new business models (night economy), circular economy and emerging industries.

In addition, the city leaders requested to promote administrative reform, streamline the organization, make it more effective and efficient. Resolutely accelerate public investment capital, the 2021-2025 medium-term plan, especially focusing on promoting key projects.
