Two exercises: Running or brisk walking
Expert James suggests two types of exercise you do for just 30 minutes at a time that can help lower your "bad" cholesterol levels.
Although the intensity of your workout depends on your fitness level, low-intensity aerobic exercise such as jogging or brisk walking for about 30 minutes is good for lowering "bad" cholesterol levels, says expert James, according to Express .
Other exercises
Yoga is also a good option. At a more gentle pace than many other exercises, yoga offers many cardiovascular benefits, such as improved flexibility, as well as mental stimulation.
Swimming is also a great option. It helps improve body fat distribution and lowers “bad” cholesterol levels, according to Express.
Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity each week. If you prefer more intense exercise, you can aim for 75 minutes each week.
Diet
In addition to regular exercise, there are a number of ways you can lower your cholesterol, adds James.
Eating a healthy diet that focuses on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats from nuts and fish is key to lowering cholesterol levels. In particular, you should limit your alcohol intake.
