Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital said that it has recently discovered a number of fake fanpages impersonating the unit to mislead the community. Some fanpages even use the same name as the hospital and post pictures and articles documenting the tragic circumstances of children with cancer to call for support.

The hospital confirmed that it has only one official fanpage with more than 111,000 followers, all other channels are fake and not managed by the unit.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital only accepts online donations for disadvantaged patients through an account named "Bright Tomorrow Cancer Patient Support Fund - Ho Chi Minh City Branch", account number: 118000122056, at Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade ( VietinBank ) - Branch 7.
"To protect the community from misinformation, we respectfully ask patients and residents not to interact and report when they discover fake pages," said a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital.

Previously, hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City also repeatedly reported being impersonated. In August, the Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City issued an important notice about the situation of impersonating the unit's charity race to defraud people.
Among them, there is a fanpage named "2025 Dental Race - Run for children's smiles" attracting 1,500 likes and 1,500 followers.
This fanpage blatantly advertised that the race had officially opened for registration, and each bib (registration number) sold would contribute 50,000 VND to the smile surgery fund for patients at the Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City.
Ho Chi Minh City Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology confirmed that the unit is currently not organizing any online or offline races.
Also in August, Cho Ray Hospital said it had received a number of complaints from organ donors about fraudulent impersonation for the purpose of profiteering.
Specifically, some subjects claimed to be hospital staff, called and asked registrants to pay a fee to receive an organ donation registration card delivered by the post office .
Dr. Du Thi Ngoc Thu, Head of the Human Organ Transplant Coordination Unit at Cho Ray Hospital, confirmed that all procedures related to organ and tissue donation registration here, including submitting the application form, issuing and sending the card to the registrant's address... are completely free.
The Human Organ Transplant Coordination Unit has reported to the post office (where Cho Ray Hospital's mail is sent to other places) to verify and thoroughly handle the incident, in order to prevent similar profiteering behaviors from happening.
Recently, K Hospital also warned about fake fanpages and websites of the "Relay Journey" race aiming to steal information and assets of participants.
Accordingly, the annual "Relay Journey" race is organized by K Hospital in collaboration with the Bright Tomorrow Fund to raise funds to support poor cancer patients.

The event not only raises funds to support disadvantaged cancer patients at hospitals, centers, and oncology departments across the country, but also spreads a positive spirit and encourages the community to act for social responsibility.
The second season of the “Relay Journey” race to raise funds to support cancer patients in 2025 has been launched. However, recently, many fake fanpages have appeared, copying all the content and images from the official channel to steal people’s information and money.
“When searching for the phrase "Relay Journey", more than 10 fanpages appear, including a fake page that fakes the blue tick, buys likes and followers (about 4,000), creating a sense of prestige to trick people into transferring money to register for BIB (registration number) through fake links”, said Master, Doctor Nguyen Ba Tinh, Head of Social Work Department, K Hospital.
Many people have been tricked into buying fake BIBs, and some have even lost large sums of money because they registered for their entire family or company. K Hospital, Bright Tomorrow Fund and the tournament organizing committee have also received many complaints from people about this situation.
MSc. Dr. Nguyen Ba Tinh recommends that people absolutely do not click on suspicious links, do not provide personal information, and do not transfer money through fake fanpages.
Participants can only register through the official channel announced by the organizer.
The Organizing Committee also calls on the community, when discovering fake fanpages or websites, to proactively report them to Facebook to join hands in preventing fraudulent behavior, ensuring the success and humane meaning of the race.
