According to Mr. Hoang Phuc Lam, Deputy Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the beginning of November 2025, the center has forecasted that from mid-November to the end of December, there is a possibility of 1-2 storms appearing in the East Sea.
“Storm No. 15 is one and there is a possibility of another storm,” Mr. Lam said.
He also said that storms appearing in late November and December are likely to affect the South Central and Southern regions, so after storm No. 15, the focus of the next storm is still likely to be this area.
Cold air dominates in late 2026 and early 2026
Mr. Lam emphasized that the weather that needs the most attention during this period is cold air. The intensity of cold air is forecast to increase gradually in December 2025 and January 2026 - the two peak months.
“This year, the cold air penetrates deep into the South and is very active, causing severe cold in the North from the second half of December. Frost and frost may appear in mountainous areas,” said Mr. Lam.
In the North, dry cold prevails during these two months, cold at night and sunny during the day. Although there are rainy days, it is mainly dry cold.
In addition, Mr. Lam noted that from late February to March 2026, there is a possibility of light rain and drizzle in the North.
At the same time, it is necessary to be vigilant for unseasonal rains in January and March in the Central Highlands and the South. In the Central region, rains are forecast to concentrate in late November and early December, mainly due to cold air, but with low intensity.
