Hai Duong reduces 27 communes and 1 ward, officially coming into operation from December

On October 24, the National Assembly Standing Committee passed a resolution on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Hai Duong province for the 2023-2025 period. The resolution takes effect from December 1, 2024.

In the 2023-2025 period, Hai Duong will reorganize 57 commune-level administrative units into 29 new units, reducing 28 units (27 communes, 1 ward).

After the arrangement, Hai Duong province has 207 commune-level administrative units (151 communes, 46 wards, 10 towns).

On October 24, the National Assembly Standing Committee also passed resolutions on the arrangement and establishment of administrative units of the following provinces and cities: Ba Ria - Vung Tau , Bac Lieu, Bac Ninh, Ben Tre, Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan, Ca Mau, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Kien Giang, Lang Son, Lam Dong, Long An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Nghe An, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa and Yen Bai.

Resolutions of the provinces and cities of Hai Phong, Da Nang, Quang Nam , Thanh Hoa, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau take effect from January 1, 2025; other resolutions take effect from December 1, 2024.
