Hai Duong launches Action Month for Children 2025

Comrade Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Population and Children of Hai Duong province launched the Month of Action for Children in 2025.

On the morning of May 22, at the Provincial Social Protection Center, the Population and Children Steering Committee of Hai Duong province launched the Month of Action for Children 2025 with the theme "Prioritizing resources to complete goals for children".

This is a high point of widespread propaganda on the Party and State's guidelines, policies and laws to raise awareness and actions of all levels, sectors, organizations, individuals, families and communities in implementing children's rights, preventing and minimizing risks to children.

At the same time, create space and opportunities to participate in forums, summer activities, cultural activities, sports, life skillseducation , helping children express their wishes and thoughts. This is also an opportunity for managers, agencies and units to summarize, evaluate and promote the implementation of goals, targets, programs and plans for children set out annually.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung said that the work of protecting, caring for and educating children in the province has achieved many outstanding results. Indicators on child health care are all at a high level. Education and legal aid for children are increasingly effective.

Along with the achievements, the work of caring for and protecting children in the province still has some limitations that need to be overcome. That is, there are still children who suffer from violence, abuse, accidents, injuries, especially drowning accidents.

The number of children accessing and using electronic devices is on the rise. Activities to prevent and improve life skills and self-protection skills for children, especially in rural areas, are still uneven and ineffective.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung assessed the cause of the limitations in child care and protection as some localities have not paid due attention and attention, and have not proactively arranged local budgets for these activities. Coordination between departments, branches, unions, political and social organizations in localities; between families, schools and society is not regular and close, and lacks synchronization. Awareness of families and communities about child care and protection is inadequate.

Therefore, all levels and sectors in the province implemented the Month of Action for Children practically and effectively. The Department of Health coordinates with sectors and organizations to effectively implement programs to support and protect children. Maintain and expand vaccination programs, screening and early intervention for diseases in children; enhance nutritional counseling, mental and physical health care for children.

The Department of Education and Training promotes life skills education, prevents school violence, and supports students with disabilities and children with special needs.

The police, prosecutors and people's courts must strengthen coordination, strictly handle acts of child abuse and violence, and protect children's rights in legal proceedings.

Localities organize safe, healthy, and beneficial summer activities. At the same time, strengthen inspection and supervision of entertainment and swimming spots, places with risks of unsafety, and proactively prevent accidents and injuries.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung suggested that parents and teachers join hands with all levels and sectors to care for and be close to their children, helping them have a safe and happy summer. Children and teenagers should be good, study well, practice morality and physical fitness, love work, love and share. Always live optimistically, trust, and nurture good dreams and aspirations.

Currently, Hai Duong has more than 491,000 children. 100% of children under 6 years old have health insurance cards, children in special circumstances receive social assistance and timely medical care.

The rate of mobilizing 5-year-old children to attend kindergarten reached 99.8%, completing primary school reached 98.84%, completing secondary school reached 98%.

However, the whole province still has 2,312 children from poor households, 5,025 children from near-poor households, 4,264 children in special circumstances and more than 12,000 children at risk of falling into special circumstances.
