According to information from the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), on the morning of June 9, the Market Management Department (QLTT) coordinated with relevant agencies to simultaneously inspect 4 cosmetic businesses in Hanoi.
The inspection points are located in Nam Tu Liem, Cau Giay districts and Son Tay town, including: Cosmetics business establishment No. 5 (Xuan Phuong ecological urban area, Nam Tu Liem); Linh Nam cosmetics - food establishment (Cau Giay district); Cosmetics establishment 9 (Cau Giay district); and another Linh Nam establishment in Son Tay town.
Authorities said the businesses were still open to customers as usual before the inspection team arrived. At the scene, most of the customers at the businesses were residents living in the surrounding area.
At the time of inspection, the business households presented to the inspection team the Business Registration Certificate and a number of valid invoices and documents of the products sold at the store.
The inspection team temporarily seized nearly 3,500 cosmetic products including shampoo, sunscreen, and skin cream without invoices or documents (Photo: Dms).
However, the task force recorded a large number of products mixed in with legal goods. Accordingly, after comparing invoices and excluding legal products, the task force temporarily seized nearly 3,500 cosmetic products including shampoo, sunscreen, and skin cream, without invoices or documents, showing signs of being smuggled goods, of unknown origin.
The total value of the infringing goods is over 187 million VND. With the above violations, it is estimated that the total amount of administrative fines to be paid at the business locations will be over 300 million VND.
According to Mr. Tran Viet Hung, Head of Market Management Department, Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, this activity is part of a series of measures to strengthen inspection and tighten management of the quality of goods circulating on the market by the Market Management force, especially for cosmetics and functional foods - a group of products that can directly affect the health of consumers if their origin and quality are not guaranteed.
