Thousands of artists from 12 theaters perform to celebrate 50 years of national reunification

Regarding the series of programs, People's Artist Xuan Bac, Director of the Department of Performing Arts, said that the series of programs demonstrates the creative efforts and pride of artists when joining the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the country celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification. It is estimated that more than 1,500 artists, actors, and musicians from the units will spread across the provinces and cities, performing hundreds of shows to serve the people, with many attractive performances, programs, and plays, demonstrating the meaning, great stature, and great value of the Great Spring Victory of 1975, and the pride in the great achievements of the country on the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification.

According to the Director of the Department of Performing Arts, although the "repertoire" of the theaters is diverse and each unit has different approaches, the ultimate goal is still to arouse the pride and excitement of the people and tourists coming to Vietnam, contributing to fostering patriotism, expressing deep gratitude to ancestors and faith in the present, the aspiration to reach the future of the nation. The programs simultaneously aim to preserve and promote fine traditional culture and arts combined with tourism development, promoting and disseminating traditional Vietnamese art forms; strengthening the great national unity bloc, encouraging the successful implementation of the country's renovation in the era of national development.

Sharing the activities of the Vietnam Cai Luong Theatre on this occasion, the Theatre's Director - Dr. People's Artist Trieu Trung Kien said that the unit will tour to serve officers, soldiers and people in the border area. Accordingly, the artists will participate in the "Border Journey" from April 18-20, in Si Ma Cai district, Lao Cai province. In addition to the performances, the artists also have many other meaningful activities such as participating in a border patrol, exchanging, accompanying the locality in community activities, social security...

People's Artist Tong Toan Thang - Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation proudly said that on this occasion, the artists will continue to tell historical stories in the language of circus. The unit has invested in staging the program "National Reunification Day", ready to serve the audience on April 25 at the Central Circus, broadcast live on QPTV; then continue to serve the audience on April 26 and May 4.

Traditional art lovers will have the opportunity to watch many special programs and plays in Hanoi and many other provinces and cities. In particular, the Vietnam Tuong Theater will perform the play "Mother's Love" on April 19 and 26 at Hong Ha Theater, Hanoi. The Vietnam Cheo Theater will perform classic Cheo plays such as "Quan Am Thi Kinh", "Dai rosary", "Bac Le sacred temple" from March to May 2025 at Kim Ma Theater, Hanoi and other localities. The Vietnam Puppetry Theater will perform "Khuc dong nhi" on April 26 and May 3 in Hanoi, and the program "Am vang dong que" on April 28-29 and May 1 at A Oi Theater, Phu Quoc. Viet Bac Folk Music and Dance Theater reunites audiences with two programs: "Vietnam's Triumphant Resounding Song" on April 30 in Hue City and the musical "Going Towards the Sun" in April - May 2025 in Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Cao Bang.

With the drama stage, the Youth Theater performed the musical “Fire from the Earth” directed by Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh. This is a work praising the birth of the Hanoi Party Committee and the children of the capital who joined the resistance war, performed on March 15-16 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi. The Vietnam Drama Theater with a series of programs and plays about President Ho Chi Minh: The art program “May with Him”, the play “The Rubber Sandal Man” on April 27 and May 17, the play “White Night” on May 18, 19 and 24.

Notably, the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet will perform the art program “Welcome to Vietnam” on April 16 in Hanoi and the program “Spring of Reunification” on April 29 at the Reunification Palace, Ho Chi Minh City. The Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra will hold a special concert to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country’s reunification on April 21 at the Hanoi Opera House. Under the baton of conductor Honna Tetsuji, the orchestra’s artists and international pianist Nguyen Viet Trung will perform many famous musical works from Vietnam and the world, expressing the historical spirit and the spirit of contemporary cultural exchange.

Vietnam National Music and Dance Theatre will hold a national symphonic and chamber concert called “Song of Victory” on April 25 at the Au Co Arts Center in Hanoi. The program honors the spirit of victory and the aspiration for national unification, conducted by conductor Le Phi Phi. Meritorious Artist Nguyen Hai Linh will direct the art. Performing with the orchestra are Meritorious Artists To Nga, Ha Le, Dao To Loan, Truong Bac, etc. Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theatre will hold a music night called “Memories of Truong Son” on April 27 at the Hanoi Opera House, with the participation of People's Artists Thanh Hoa, People's Artist Thu Hien, People's Artist Quang Tho, People's Artist Trung Duc, People's Artist Quoc Hung, People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao, People's Artist Hong Hanh, People's Artist Viet Hoan, etc.
