The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has just issued an official dispatch to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities regarding the implementation of land inventory in 2024. This is a move to implement the 2024 Land Law, Directive No. 22/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister and new resolutions of the Central and Government on the reorganization of administrative units at all levels.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requests localities to speed up the implementation and submission of land inventory results, and prepare maps of current land use status in 2024 at the commune level before implementing administrative unit arrangement and submitting them to the land inventory system of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, with completion date before June 15, 2025.

In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment proposed that localities stop land inventory and mapping of current land use status in 2024 at the district level, and temporarily stop at the provincial level until the arrangement according to the new administrative unit boundaries is completed.
For provincial and district-level administrative units that are conducting or have completed land inventory and mapping the current land use status in 2024, they will be considered and paid for the volume performed according to current regulations.
At the same time, localities proactively coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security in reviewing and unifying the locations and areas of national defense and security land in the locality.
The Ministry also proposed that the provincial People's Committees, after the arrangement, are responsible for organizing the synthesis of land inventory data and creating a map of the current land use status in 2024 at the commune level after being arranged according to the new administrative unit boundaries, with the completion time before July 31, 2025.
Localities need to organize land inventory, create a map of the current land use status in 2024 at the provincial level and submit the land inventory results to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment before August 20, 2025.
In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requires localities to focus on completing the mapping of administrative unit boundaries at all levels according to the approved Project on reorganizing administrative units and updating the administrative unit boundary layer into the land inventory system of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
