Ha Trung Forest Ranger Station strives to protect the forest.

Forest rangers in Ha Trung District are intensifying forest inspections.

The Ha Trung Forest Protection Unit advised the local Party Committee and government on Conclusion No. 61-KL/TW dated August 17, 2023, of the Party Central Committee on continuing to implement Directive 13-CT/TW dated October 12, 2017, of the Party Central Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership over forest management, protection, and development; and on guiding documents and implementing plans and strategies for forest protection and fire prevention. Simultaneously, a decision was issued to consolidate the Forest Fire Prevention and Control Steering Committee. In key forest fire-prone communes, 86 forest protection and fire prevention teams were established with 1,214 members. In addition, the unit coordinated with local authorities to promote awareness campaigns on forest protection and fire prevention. As a result, in 2025, the unit organized 4 mobile propaganda campaigns; 32 conferences, with 960 participants. Propaganda was disseminated through local public address systems over 1,300 times; commitments to forest protection and fire prevention were signed by 682 households living in and around forests in key fire-prone areas. Coordination with youth unions and schools in key forest fire and forest security areas was carried out to raise awareness about forest protection and fire prevention during weekly flag-raising ceremonies. Two training courses were organized to guide local forest rangers and forest protection officers on establishing initial records of administrative violations in the forestry sector; guidance on Circular 26/2025/TT-BNN&MT and Circular 27/2025/TT-BNN&MT was provided to forest owners, owners of forest product processing and trading establishments, and owners of wildlife breeding facilities.

According to Tran Van Vui, Head of the Ha Trung Forest Ranger Station: Identifying forest protection and fire prevention as a top priority in forest development, the unit has advised local authorities on plans and strategies for forest protection and fire prevention. Accordingly, the unit has clearly identified key areas with a high risk of fire; always maintains readiness of personnel, vehicles, machinery, equipment, and tools according to the "four on-the-spot" principle from the village to the commune level, and for state-owned forest owners; and forecasts forest fire risk levels during prolonged periods of hot, dry weather. During hot, dry days, the unit coordinates with the steering committees of key fire-prone communes to organize patrols and forest fire watch at 15 locations; controlling people entering and leaving key fire-prone areas. It also advises the steering committees of key communes and state-owned forest owners on reducing flammable materials, managing, using, and repairing firebreak systems in pine forest areas, combined with forest patrol routes. Clearing debris reduces flammable materials around the base of pine trees in the area where resin is being extracted.

As a result, the Ha Trung Forest Ranger Station, in coordination with local authorities and the Thach Thanh Protective Forest Management Board, has renovated 4.5km of firebreaks, combined with patrol roads; repaired 15.2km of firebreaks; conducted controlled burning of flammable materials under the forest canopy on 43.7 hectares; cleared undergrowth, vines, and bushes on 100 hectares in Ha Trung, Tong Son, and Linh Toai communes; and effectively managed and utilized the early forest fire detection camera system. Local forest rangers were instructed to advise communes on reviewing forest land areas; and to organize propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to plant trees at the beginning of the year. As a result, from the beginning of 2025 to the present, 164.95 hectares of concentrated trees and nearly 900,000 scattered trees have been planted.

In addition, efforts to combat illegal logging, deforestation, and the illegal trade, transportation, and processing of forest products have been intensified. Monthly, the Ha Trung Forest Ranger Station develops plans and coordinates with police, military forces, the Thach Thanh Protective Forest Management Board, the Mobile Forest Ranger Team and the Forest Fire Prevention and Control Committee, and local authorities to strengthen forest security inspections in areas at risk of illegal logging, deforestation, and forest encroachment. From the beginning of 2025 to the present, the unit has conducted 198 inspections with 726 participants, detecting and handling 5 violations of the Forestry Law; collecting over 56 million VND for the State budget.

By 2025, the area of forest under the unit's management will be free from forest fires, and there will be no hotspots or areas of illegal logging, deforestation, trading, or transportation of forest products.
