Pleiku City People's Council passed a resolution to reorganize administrative units into 5 wards and 2 communes.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Trinh Duy Thuan - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Pleiku City; Nguyen Duc Chin - Vice Chairman of the City People's Council. Attending the meeting were 33/34 delegates of the People's Council of Pleiku City for the 2021-2026 term.

At the meeting, based on the review of the reports submitted by the City People's Committee and the inspection reports of the City People's Council Committees, the delegates of the Pleiku City People's Council, term XII, discussed and voted to pass the Resolution on approving the policy of merging Gia Lai and Binh Dinh provinces, and arranging commune-level administrative units in 2025 in Pleiku city.

According to the Project on arranging commune-level administrative units in 2025, Pleiku City will establish 5 wards and 2 communes (a 72% reduction). ) on the basis of 21 communes and wards of the city and merging 4 more communes (Nghia Hung commune, Chu Dang Ya commune, Chu Pah district; Ha Bau commune, Dak Doa district; Ia Pech commune, Ia Grai district).

Specifically, agree on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in 2025 in Pleiku City, as follows:

- Merge administrative units of Yen The, Dong Da, Thong Nhat wards to establish Thong Nhat ward administrative unit.

- Merge the administrative units of Tay Son, Hoi Thuong, Phu Dong, Hoa Lu wards and Tra Da commune to establish the administrative unit of Pleiku ward .

- Merge the administrative units of Yen Do, Dien Hong, Ia Kring wards and Dien Phu commune to establish the administrative unit of Dien Hong ward .

- Merge the administrative units of Tra Ba, Hoi Phu and Chi Lang wards to establish the administrative unit of Hoi Phu ward .

- Merge the administrative units of Thang Loi ward, Chu A commune, An Phu commune to establish An Phu ward administrative unit.

- Merge the administrative units of Bien Ho commune, Nghia Hung commune (Chu Pah district), Chu Dang Ya commune (Chu Pah district), Ha Bau commune (Dak Doa district) to establish the administrative unit of Bien Ho commune.

- Merge the administrative units of Gao commune, Ia Kenh commune, Ia Pech commune (Ia Grai district) to establish the administrative unit of Gao commune .

In his closing speech, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Pleiku City People's Council Trinh Duy Thuan requested the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations to continue to promote the Party and State's policies and viewpoints, the positive impacts of administrative unit restructuring on the economic and social development of the country and the locality; at the same time, mobilize cadres, party members and all classes of people to reach consensus and high unity, ensuring that the implementation process takes place on schedule, effectively and stably during the restructuring process.
