Lao Cai won 3 prizes at the UPU International Letter Writing Competition

According to the Department of Education and Training, Lao Cai won 3 individual and group prizes at the UPU International Letter Writing Competition.

The closing and awarding ceremony of the 54th UPU International Letter Writing Competition 2025 was held on May 16 in Hanoi .

This year’s contest theme is: “Imagine you are the ocean. Write a letter to someone explaining why and how they should take good care of you.” The contest is being held for the 37th time in Vietnam, nationwide from November 11, 2024 to March 5, 2025.

The organizers received nearly 1.5 million entries from students across the country.

Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, a 9B student at Ta Phoi Primary and Secondary School ( Lao Cai city) and her teacher at the award ceremony.

In the end, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 3 Second Prizes, 5 Third Prizes, 30 Encouragement Prizes, 61 Promising Writer Prizes, 10 Source of Ideas Prizes and 10 Collective Prizes. The First and Second Prize winners were also honored to receive the "Creative Youth" Badge from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union .

Participating in the contest, Lao Cai province won 3 individual and collective prizes. Specifically: Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, a 9B grade student, Ta Phoi Primary and Secondary School (Lao Cai city) won the Promising Writer prize; Nguyen Thuy Hang, a 3A grade student, Tri Quang Primary School (Bao Thang district) won the Idea Source prize and Bat Xat Town Secondary School (Bat Xat district) won the collective prize.
