Eriksen has not found a new destination after leaving MU. |
After leaving MU this summer, Eriksen is considering a new destination for the final stage of his career. Sky Sports revealed that the 33-year-old star prefers to join a team in a top European league. However, he was impressed with the development plan and ambition presented by the Wrexham board in recent negotiations.
The deal is still open, but with Eriksen not in a hurry to decide his future, Wrexham have every chance of making a "shocking" signing in the Championship in the 2025/26 season.
Wrexham is considered by experts to be a "phenomenon" of English football, having achieved an unprecedented feat of being promoted three times in a row. The club will compete in the English First Division for the first time since 1982.
The club's two owners, actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have played a big role in this success. Since buying the Welsh club in 2021, they have spent heavily to help the club dominate lower-league rivals financially.
Meanwhile, Eriksen's contract with the "Red Devils" expires at the end of June. The two sides have no intention of extending it. Since joining MU in July 2022, Eriksen has made 107 appearances, scoring 8 goals and contributing 18 assists.
Along with Eriksen, central defender duo Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof also said goodbye to Old Trafford this summer.
