Effective when people check and monitor

Promoting the spirit of “people know, people discuss, people check, people supervise”, through the People’s Inspection Board and the Community Investment Supervision Board, the people of the Capital have participated in supervising many activities taking place in residential areas. Thereby, many incidents have been detected early, errors have been promptly corrected, and waste has been limited.

Put people's interests first

During the period when Tien Phong commune (Ba Vi district) deployed basic construction works to bring the commune to the finish line of building a new rural area, with the assigned role, Head of the Community Investment Supervision Board Nguyen Van Luong and members worked day and night to monitor the contractor's construction process.

Through monitoring, the Community Investment Supervision Board discovered that hundreds of square meters of corrugated iron roofing in the parking area when building the school was not in accordance with the design, and the concrete quality did not meet standards. Or when renovating the road and equipping the drainage system and lighting system in Vi Nhue village, the Community Investment Supervision Board discovered that the contractor's paving of the foundation stone did not ensure quality and standards...

In 2024 and the first months of 2025, Nghiem Xuyen commune (Thuong Tin district) has 7 households receiving financial support to build Great Unity houses. To ensure the construction of houses on schedule and with quality, supervision is a top priority for the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district and commune.

Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghiem Xuyen Commune, Nguyen Thi Minh Khuyen, said: During the construction process, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune assigned member organizations and the Village Front Work Committee to supervise the construction process to ensure the quality of the project, progress and promptly advise the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels to remove difficulties, obstacles and problems arising during the implementation process. Thanks to that, the Great Solidarity Houses of the commune always completed the project on schedule and with quality.

Aiming to strive to become a ward, recently, the urbanization speed in Kim No commune (Dong Anh district) has been very fast. Most of the main roads of the commune have been concreted; schools, medical stations, and cultural houses in villages have been built to meet standards. Therefore, the working capacity of the People's Inspectorate of the commune has also been maximized.

Head of the People's Inspectorate of Kim No Commune, Nguyen Mau Sy, said: "The People's Inspectorate has proposed that the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune direct construction units to clearly recognize the importance of supervision work and create conditions for us to properly perform our functions and tasks."

Responsible for the work, even though there were times when there were many construction projects in the commune, people who "eat at home and carry the whole family's burden" like Mr. Nguyen Mau Sy and other members of the People's Inspectorate still strive to accompany the government and people with the goal of ensuring the quality of construction projects.

With the requirements of the task and closely following the reality of each stage, the Hanoi City Fatherland Front at all levels has proactively selected the contents and issues that people are interested in and recommend, directly related to life to monitor. That is monitoring the implementation of support policies for subjects affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; the implementation of collecting votes to assess people's satisfaction with the results of new rural construction; management of apartment buildings...

The People's Inspection Committees and Community Investment Supervision Committees are regularly strengthened, improved, and their quality of operations improved. Over the past 5 years, the People's Inspection Committees have supervised 24,045 cases; made recommendations to authorities at all levels and competent agencies on 3,700 cases, from which 3,546 cases were reviewed and resolved.

The Community Investment Supervision Board participated in supervising 15,120 projects; detected 982 violations, and recommended competent authorities to promptly handle 932 cases.

In addition, the Front's people's supervision and inspection activities are also demonstrated in the following areas: Construction order management 11,805 cases, land management 3,281 cases, grassroots democracy implementation 4,856 cases, and other areas 1,780 cases.

“In 2025, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city proposes that the Front at all levels strengthen the people's supervisory role through the activities of the People's Inspectorate and the Community Investment Supervision Committee to prevent and combat corruption, negativity, and waste...”, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Nguyen Lan Huong emphasized.

However, to make monitoring activities more effective, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Tu Liem District Do Thien Duc suggested: "Party committees and authorities need to increase propaganda to help people see their rights and the role of the Front to actively participate in monitoring activities."

The coordination and active participation of the people require that in the coming time, the Front at all levels need to select practical monitoring content, along with resolving post-monitoring recommendations. Only then will monitoring activities continue to bring more benefits to the people and the government and be in line with the principles and purposes of monitoring work.
