On June 23, the People's Committee of Soc Son district held a conference to deploy disaster prevention and control work, and respond to flood situations in 2025.
According to the report of the standing agency of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Soc Son district, in recent days, the total average rainfall measured in the district from 7am on June 22 to 7am on June 23 was 76.3mm. The water level on Cau river measured at 7am on June 23 was 7.13m and at 11am on June 23 was 7.27m above alert level 2 and the river water is continuing to rise.
Regarding the damage situation, up to now, the district has not recorded any damage to people and property, only local flooding has occurred in some areas outside the riverbank due to the high water level of Cau River, above alert level 2 and Ca Lo River above alert level 1. In some low-lying areas, outside the dike, there is local flooding affecting traffic and people's travel.
Regarding the spring rice production area, farmers have basically finished harvesting. However, due to the early flood, 8 hectares of seedlings in Viet Long and Tan Hung communes were affected. As for newly planted rice, 5 hectares in Hong Ky commune and 5 hectares in Trung Gia commune were affected, 10 hectares of chili in Xuan Giang and 3 hectares in Xuan Thu commune.

Some departments, offices and units have also reported the current situation at their facilities during the prolonged rain in recent days, and at the same time proposed plans to ensure disaster prevention and control in the adverse weather conditions that may occur in the coming days.
According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Son district Do Minh Tuan, the weather situation in the coming days will continue to be complicated, with heavy rains occurring in the provinces of Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen, so there is a high possibility that the Cau River and Ca Lo River will rise, causing widespread flooding. Therefore, agencies, units and localities, in addition to preparing for the transfer of local government at two levels starting on July 1, must continue to deploy disaster prevention and control plans according to the 4-on-the-spot principle, emphasizing on duty work, checking forces, vehicles and materials to be ready to respond when natural disasters occur, in order to minimize damage caused by floods.
