In a subsequent social media post, the British Embassy in Vietnam released several photos of British sailors conducting a PASSEX exercise with soldiers on board a Vietnamese Navy missile boat. This was the last activity of the sailors of HMS Spey during this visit.

“This is the second time the two navies have conducted Exercise PASSEX. Farewell to HMS Spey. We hope to welcome her and her crew back soon,” the statement said.

According to the military , PASSEX (passing exercise) is the name given to the exercises organized by the two fleets with the mission of enhancing cooperation in military operations or in humanitarian relief missions.
