On the journey of innovative startups, startups cannot avoid difficulties and failures. Therefore, building and forming a network of consultants to guide and support startups is extremely urgent today. Grasping this need, the Center for Science and Technology Information (KH&CN), Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City has just organized the KNÐMST Consultant Training Program. Closely following the goal of improving capacity and skills to become an KNÐMST consultant, the KNÐMST Consultant Training Program is highly appreciated by students for its practicality and effectiveness after attending.

Mr. Vu Minh Hai, Director of the Center for Science and Technology Information, said: " Can Tho City launched the Can Tho City Startup Advisory Network in October 2022. This is an important foundation for Can Tho City to lay the first bricks in the journey of building and developing the city's startup advisory network. Since then, the city has connected and invited many domestic and foreign experts and advisors to support the development of the city's startup ecosystem. However, the need to find advisors to connect and share content about business networks; experience, knowledge, and skills of startup; financial support; and motivation for startups to overcome difficulties and make the right decisions is currently very large. Therefore, with this course, we hope that lecturers with a lot of teaching and practical experience can support the startup community with knowledge and skills; at the same time build, connect, and form a network. "KNÐMST consultant for the Mekong Delta region in general and Can Tho city in particular".
The training program for startup advisors is within the framework of implementing Plan No. 135/KH-UBND dated June 30, 2021 of Can Tho City People's Committee on supporting the development of the Can Tho City startup ecosystem for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030. The program is designed for lecturers, experts, entrepreneurs, successful startups or those with 5 years or more of experience; leaders of units with startup activities. Accordingly, by participating in the class, students are equipped with knowledge revolving around: analyzing and sketching the portrait of mentors and mentees; basic skills in mentoring; designing programs in different environments; building a mentoring environment; practical experience in mentoring; conditions for participating in the national startup advisory council...
The training course combines lectures and group discussions between learners and lecturers to ensure that the program's knowledge is applied and customized for each startup, investor, consultant, and manager. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tieu Mi, Tra Vinh Business Incubator, Tra Vinh University, shared: "Before participating in startup support activities, I participated in a startup competition organized by Tra Vinh University when I was a student. Therefore, I clearly understand the thoughts, difficulties, and aspirations of students when embarking on a startup journey. Coming to this training course, I have more knowledge about KNÐMST consulting; better understand the role, potential, and strengths of mentors and mentees; KNÐMST support tools... can be practically applied to support and consulting activities for students in the school's startup journey".
Students receive a certificate upon completion of the course.
As an inspiration and direct instructor, Mr. Ly Dinh Quan, Vice Chairman of the National Innovation Advisory Council, General Director of the Song Han Startup Incubation Center, said: "We have directly supported many provinces and cities across the country with many contents related to the formation of the KNÐMST ecosystem. And coming to Can Tho this time, we expect to contribute to forming a network and mentor community in the city. The role of mentors is extremely important to the success or failure of a startup project. Therefore, with the knowledge gained after this course, mentors need an environment to experience and interact more with mentees to gain experience, thereby leading startup activities not only in Can Tho City but also spreading to localities in the Mekong Delta region.
