In the early morning of April 14, coach Amorim's team was crushed by Newcastle with a score of 1-4 in round 32 of the English Premier League.

The defeat at St James' Park marked the Red Devils' 14th defeat in the Premier League this season. This number is equal to the total number of defeats they have suffered in the entire 2023-2024 season.

This defeat also caused coach Amorim's team to fall to 14th place with only 38 points and 6 matches left in the season.

However, after the match, the Portuguese coach still spoke up to affirm that he completely understood the criticism being directed at him and the whole team.

"I understand the criticism, but I don't care. There is nothing worse than seeing your team lose. Everyone has the right to make any comments," coach Amorim frankly shared after the match.

“I have no intention of justifying or defending myself. Just look at our position in the table, it is clear. Man United need to improve a lot and the position in the table is an accurate reflection of our performance throughout the season,” admitted the 39-year-old coach.

In addition, Man United are also on track to set a record for the lowest number of points in the history of participating in the Premier League.

Their minds are now focused on the Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon, which is the last hope for the Red Devils in a terrible season.
