At the pre-match press conference, coach Kim Sang Sik said that U23 Vietnam would face many difficulties under the pressure of the home team, but also affirmed that the whole team would prepare carefully to defend the title.

Specifically, the Korean strategist shared: "This will be a difficult match, it's too early to say anything about the result. We will prepare well and if the players do well as planned, we will win."

Besides, Mr. Kim said that U23 Vietnam has the advantage of having more rest than its opponent, but also said that U23 Indonesia will not show fatigue with three days off.

"I think their lineup will not change. Even though they played 120 minutes against Thailand and have many young players, with three days off, I think Indonesia will not change anything," he said.

We have played one less game and that is a small advantage. But the final will be more tense and stressful, so the fighting spirit is very important. The whole team will try to overcome this challenge."

On the way to the final, U23 Vietnam played three matches, scoring seven goals and conceding two. Meanwhile, U23 Indonesia had to play a total of four matches, including three matches in the group stage and a 120-minute match against U23 Thailand in the semi-finals.

However, U23 Indonesia has a mental advantage as they will compete at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium with the cheers of tens of thousands of home fans. In addition, the defeat in the final match in 2023 against U23 Vietnam will be a great motivation for coach Gerald Vanenburg's team to aim to pay back the "debt", thereby becoming the Southeast Asian champion at the U23 level for the second time.

The final match of U23 Southeast Asia between U23 Vietnam and U23 Indonesia will take place at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow night (July 29).
