Mr. Park Hang Seo is the former coach of the Vietnam national team, winner of the 2018 AFF Cup, and champion of the 2019 and 2022 SEA Games.

Previously, Mr. Park was an assistant to coach Guus Hiddink (Netherlands), and with the Korean team entered the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup. Not long ago, Mr. Park Hang Seo was elected as Vice President of the KFA.

Regarding Mr. Park Hang Seo's role with the Korean team towards the 2026 World Cup, a KFA official spoke up: "The technical support group for the Korean team existed before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. However, at that time, this group did not function well, because at that time the KFA president election had not been completed."

"Currently, the newly established technical support team has been tasked with working more efficiently. We will work to the maximum to support the Korean team to reach the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup. That is our goal," the KFA official added.

Since reaching the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup on home soil, South Korea have never advanced beyond the round of 16 at a World Cup. At the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, the number of teams participating in the finals will increase from 32 to 48.
