West Lake bustles with Hanoi Open Dragon Boat Racing 2024

Vietnam Airlines successfully organized the 2024 Hanoi Open Dragon Boat Racing Tournament with the participation of 48 teams from domestic and foreign units, organizations and enterprises.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Hanoi Open Dragon Boat Racing Tournament was attended by representatives of the Hanoi People's Committee, leaders of Vietnam Airlines, sponsors, athletes and a large number of fans, creating a vibrant atmosphere at West Lake, Hanoi.

Nearly 800 coaches and athletes from 40 territories, countries, units and organizations have registered to participate in this year's Hanoi Open Dragon Boat Racing Tournament. Of these, 48 boat teams have registered to compete.

This is not only an opportunity for athletes to exchange and show solidarity, but also contributes to promoting the image of tourism in the capital.

With 6 categories at a distance of 500m, the sailing teams competed with the highest spirit, bringing impressive performances.

The tournament attracted the attention and cheers of a large number of spectators in the capital and tourists. The bustling drum beats and cheers created a truly impressive atmosphere.

Dragon boat racing is not only a sport but also a symbol of solidarity, perseverance and will to overcome all challenges.

Besides the spectacular sprints, the tournament also honored beautiful moments of determination and teamwork.

The participation of foreign racing teams contributes to increasing the international character of the tournament. Through the event, Vietnam Airlines wants to join hands to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values ​​of the nation, while contributing to promoting the image of the Capital - a destination rich in culture, history and attractive to tourists.

Each boat team has a drummer, a helmsman, and dozens of other rowers, all of whom must coordinate their movements to achieve optimal speed and tactics. Each member plays an important role in contributing to the team's victory.

This year, the Hanoi Open Dragon Boat Racing Tournament is held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). This is a meaningful time to look back at the glorious past and traditional culture of the nation, while looking forward to the future of integration and sustainable development.

The Organizing Committee presented the final results. First prize in the International Boat category went to the Vietnam Airlines Boat Team; First prize in the Embassy Boat category went to the Us Embassy & Alumni Boat Team; First prize in the District - County Women's Boat category went to the Chuong My Boat Team; First prize in the Organization - Enterprise - Club Boat category went to the BIDV Boat Team; First prize in the District - County Men's Boat category went to the Bac Tu Liem Boat Team and First prize in the Province - City Boat category went to the Hanoi Boat Team.

Vietnam Airlines Dragon Boat Team took a souvenir photo with the Board of Directors of the Corporation. At this year's tournament, Vietnam Airlines Dragon Boat Team excelled over Young Chuang China (China), Dragon Boat Innovate Singapore (Singapore) and Spanish Dragons Hong Kong (China) to win First Prize in the International Boat category.

The Hanoi Open Dragon Boat Racing Tournament is one of the activities in the cooperation program between Vietnam Airlines and the Hanoi People's Committee, aiming to promote the sustainable development of culture, sports and tourism.

Through supporting and sponsoring sports activities, Vietnam Airlines not only affirms its commitment to public health but also actively contributes to promoting the image of the Capital to international friends.
