Support Hanoi to establish a multimodal public transport network

Kinhtedothi - Hanoi People's Committee issued Decision No. 580/QD-UBND dated February 3 on approving the content of the document and accepting the technical assistance project "Improving public transport in Hanoi (Moov'Hanoi)" using non-refundable aid from the Ile-de-France Regional Council (French Republic).

The Technical Assistance Project "Improving Hanoi's Public Transport (Moov'Hanoi)" funded by the Ile-de-France Regional Council (Republic of France) and the French Development Agency (AFD) aims to enhance the attractiveness of public transport in Hanoi; support Hanoi in establishing a multi-modal public transport network.

Accordingly, the project will improve “passenger travel routes”, especially through improvements to public transport stations; improve accessibility by all modes, especially walking to stations to facilitate the use of this new public transport mode; reorganize the existing bus network to better complement the overall public transport provision.

Project implementation time is 1 year from the date of approval. Total project capital is over 33 billion VND, equivalent to 1.2 million Euro, of which non-refundable aid is 32 billion VND, equivalent to 1.15 million Euro, counterpart capital is nearly 1.2 billion VND, equivalent to over 42 thousand Euro.

The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Transport to take full responsibility for receiving and implementing the aid in accordance with its assigned functions and tasks. Relevant departments, branches, sectors and units shall carry out the work according to their assigned functions and tasks.
