Engfa Wahara and Charlotte Austin "heat up" the stage of Miss Grand Thailand 2023 by wearing revealing outfits

Taking on the role of MC for the competition night are reigning Miss Grand Thailand 2022 Engfa Wahara and 5th Runner-up Miss Grand Thailand 2022 - Charlotte Austin.

The two beauty queens made the stage hotter than ever when they wore see-through, body-hugging outfits, showing off their hot curves.

This is not the first time Engfa Wahara has worn a bold outfit on stage at Miss Grand Thailand 2023.

At the press conference to announce the crowns for the beauty queens and runners-up on April 6, Engfa caused a stir when she wore a high-slit dress that revealed her underwear. This moment was posted on beauty pageant forums and became the center of controversy.

Engfa Waraha causes controversy with daring high-slit dress

After becoming the 1st runner-up of Miss Grand International 2022, Engfa continuously received backlash for her inappropriate and sometimes offensive clothing.

According to Thairath, when visiting a famous temple in Hat Yai city, the beauty queen wore a cool, body-hugging sleeveless shirt. And at a charity event at the Huai Sai Community Health Center, she dressed up too elaborately and seductively.

Another time, she wore sexy clothes, continuously caressed her body, and even pushed her hips towards the male rapper at the Daboyway Live Performance concert. Engfa's performance was criticized as not suitable for the role of a beauty queen.

Facing criticism, Engfa even made statements that challenged public opinion. She responded frankly: "Many people said that my dancing was bad and offensive. But that day, I came to the concert as a singer, not a beauty queen. From now on, I don't care about anything anymore."

Creepy performance, contestant has to livestream to sell food

Not only the reigning beauty queen Engfa Wahara, the contestants in this year's contest have also caused controversy many times.

Bold outfits of Miss Grand Thailand 2023 contestants

For example, in the Creative Lanna Costume round that took place on the evening of April 15, many contestants appeared on stage wearing see-through outfits, abusing sexy elements, such as representatives from Phichit, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima provinces...

Typically, the costume of the beauty of Amnat Charoen province is described as inspired by the beauty of ethnic people living in Northern Thailand with accents of embroidery, red thread, and silver jewelry.

But this costume is controversial because of its bold, unrestrained style and lack of elegance of a national costume.

Creative Lanna Costume performance by a beauty from Satun province

Besides the overly revealing costumes, the Miss Grand Thailand 2023 stage also witnessed some creepy performances.

One of the most notable performances was by the representative of Satun Province, Ployphailin Worawong. On stage, Worawong wore traditional costumes and a mask covering her face. She then took off the mask and transformed into a starving ghost on stage.

The performance of the beauty from Satun province received mixed reactions. On beauty forums, some viewers praised her for "sacrificing for art", while others said the performance was too horrifying, giving many people goosebumps.

Miss Grand Thailand has long been known as a noisy playground with no shortage of tricks to attract attention.

This year's contest, which started in early April, has also continuously attracted attention with unnecessary noise, from the contestants' clothing to the attitude of Mr. Nawat - the contest's chairman.

Most notably, the chairman also loudly scolded the representative of Chumphon province - Aoom Thaweeporn Phingchamrat right on the livestream.

The reason is because Aoom wore a costume from a brand that was used by the Miss Universe Thailand contest. Meanwhile, for Mr. Nawat, Miss Universe is considered a direct competitor.

Miss Grand Thailand 2023 contestants actively livestream to sell products

Not stopping there, Mr. Nawat also shocked the audience by requiring the contestants to livestream to sell food. He also set a target of each beauty having to close 200 orders. This is also a criterion for the Organizing Committee of the Miss Grand Thailand contest to consider putting contestants into the Top.

On beauty forums, audiences criticized President Nawat for taking advantage of the reputation of the Miss Grand pageant to make profits and affect the reputation of the beauties crowned from the pageant.

Miss Grand Thailand was launched in 2013 and is under the direction of Mr. Nawat. This year's final is scheduled to be held in Bangkok on April 29.

The winning girl will receive the crown from the previous Miss Engfa Waraha and have the opportunity to participate in Miss Grand International 2023 (taking place in Vietnam at the end of the year).

In addition, the organizers announced that they will crown all contestants in the top 10. This is said to be similar to the scenario of Miss Grand International 2022, when there were a total of 9 runners-up.
