According to The Standard, the fire broke out in the three-story wooden Wenchang Pavilion located inside the Yongqing Temple on Phoenix Mountain, Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province, at around 11:24 a.m. on November 12.
Firefighters quickly organized firefighting, and the fire was extinguished, according to information from the government's official WeChat account, Global Times reported.


Videos posted by netizens show the three-story structure inside Vinh Thanh Pagoda on Phoenix Mountain being burned down from top to bottom by a fierce fire.
After the fire, Van Xuong Cac was left with only the concrete frame. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident.
The fire did not affect the surrounding forest area. The cause of the fire at the pagoda is under investigation.
It is known that Vinh Thanh Pagoda was built in 536, is one of the famous ancient pagodas. This current pagoda was restored in 1993, after the original structure was destroyed in 1958.
