Implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the district in 2025, Tran Van Thoi district has completed 18 houses for Khmer ethnic households. Thereby, creating joy for people to celebrate Tet.
That was one of the results announced at the meeting of typical Khmer ethnic people in the district on the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay New Year 2025, April 14.
Typical Khmer ethnic people in Tran Van Thoi district gathered to celebrate Chol Chnam Thmay in 2025 in a warm atmosphere.
Tran Van Thoi district currently has 2,191 Khmer ethnic households with 8,751 people. Thanks to the full and timely implementation of the Party's guidelines and resolutions, the State's policies and laws, the Khmer people always believe in the leadership role of the Party, the management and administration of the State, joining hands and hearts to build their homeland to develop more and more. By the end of 2024, through the results of reviewing poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard, the period 2022-2025, the whole district will have 80 poor Khmer households (a decrease of 36 households compared to 2023), 73 near-poor households (a decrease of 38 households compared to 2023).
Having a new house during the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the nation, people are very happy and excited.
In order to help ethnic minority people have conditions to develop the economy , in recent years, the district has promoted investment in building infrastructure for areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, areas with a large number of ethnic minorities living such as: electricity, roads, schools, stations, and domestic water. Since then, the appearance of rural areas in ethnic minority areas has increasingly improved, people are very excited and assured to work and produce. Many typical examples of good production and business workers have appeared with an income of hundreds of millions of VND/year.
At the meeting, representatives of the district leaders praised the efforts of the Khmer people in their efforts to study, work and produce. At the same time, they requested relevant sectors, communes and towns to pay more attention to the Khmer people in the district, and join hands to build their homeland to be increasingly rich, civilized and happy.
During the Chol Chnam Thmay festival this year, 245 poor households, near-poor households, policy families and retired cadres of Khmer ethnic group received gifts in the district. At the meeting, the district presented 136 gifts to cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and armed forces of Khmer ethnic group working in agencies, departments and branches of the district and communes and towns.
