Completed cash distribution to 275 households affected by storm No. 3

On June 5 and 11, 2025, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with the People's Committee of Phu Binh District to distribute cash to 275 households affected by storm No. 3 in Thuong Dinh, Dao Xa, and Nha Long communes. This activity is part of the Project to support people affected by storm No. 3 - Yagi (2024), funded by the Government of the Republic of Korea, implemented through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

Households in the three communes of Thuong Dinh, Nha Long, and Dao Xa received support money to overcome storm No. 3.

Accordingly, the total support budget for these households is VND857.5 million. Each eligible household is supported with VND3-5 million in cash to pay for essential needs such as food, necessities and basic consumer goods. Priority beneficiaries include poor households, near-poor households, households in especially difficult circumstances, the elderly (65 years of age and older), single women, pregnant women, women with children under 5 years of age and people with disabilities.

Households in the three communes of Thuong Dinh, Nha Long, and Dao Xa received support money to overcome storm No. 3.

In addition to providing cash support to people, the project will also build three rural lighting lines in Phu Binh district and provide production materials to 15 cooperatives in Phu Binh, Phu Luong and Dinh Hoa districts by July 2025. These are localities that suffered heavy damage after the storm.
