Specifically, according to the new circular issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, direct admission to high school is for the following subjects:

- Students of secondary boarding schools for ethnic minorities;

- Students are ethnic minorities very few;

- Students are disabled.

- Secondary school students who won national prizes organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or in coordination with ministries and ministerial-level agencies on a national scale for competitions, exams, and contests on culture, arts, sports; scientific and technical research competitions.

- Secondary school students who won prizes in international competitions selected by the Minister of Education and Training.

Cases where priority points are added

The Circular also clearly states the subjects of students who are given priority points in high school admissions.

Priority points will be added to the total admission score calculated on a 10-point scale for each exam subject. Group 1: 2 points added; Group 2: 1.5 points added; Group 3: 1 point added.

Specifically, group 1 includes:

- Martyr's child;

- Children of war invalids with 81% or more loss of working capacity;

- Children of war invalids with 81% or more loss of working capacity;

- Children of people granted "Certificate of beneficiaries of policies for war invalids, who have a reduced working capacity of 81% or more";

- Children of resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals;

- Children of revolutionary activists before January 1, 1945;

- Children of revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising.

Group 2 includes:

- Children of Armed Forces Heroes, Labor Heroes, and Heroic Vietnamese Mothers;

- Children of war invalids with working capacity loss below 81%;

- Children of war invalids with labor capacity loss below 81%;

- Children of people granted "Certificate of beneficiaries of policies for war invalids, who have a reduced working capacity of less than 81%".

Group 3 includes:

- People whose father or mother is an ethnic minority;

- Ethnic minorities;

- Students in areas with particularly difficult socio -economic conditions.

Cases where incentive points are awarded

Students who are given priority for bonus points in high school admission include:

- Secondary school students who win provincial-level prizes organized by the Department of Education and Training or in coordination with departments and branches organized on a provincial scale for competitions organized at the national level according to regulations.

- The incentive points are added to the total admission score calculated on a 10-point scale for each subject and exam. In which, the first prize is added 1.5 points; the second prize is added 1 point; the third prize is added 0.5 points.

Ministry of Education and Training: The third exam subject for grade 10 cannot be chosen for more than 3 consecutive years . To ensure consistency, the entrance exam method for grade 10 will include 3 subjects: Math, Literature and a third exam subject or test selected by the Department of Education and Training.
