Hoi An City People's Committee has just held an award ceremony for the architectural design competition for Kim Bong Bridge (Cam Kim People's Bridge).

After selecting from 16 entries, the consortium of Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Vietnam Co., Ltd. and DB Investment and Development Company Limited was awarded the Second Prize (no First Prize). The Organizing Committee also awarded 3 Third Prizes to Nguyen Dinh Vinh and Associates Architecture Co., Ltd., VTCO Investment Co., Ltd., the consortium of Ciar Architecture and Urban Co., Ltd. and S-CIAR Construction Design and Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company.
According to the representative of the joint venture that won the second prize, along the Thu Bon River flowing through Hoi An, there are large nets fixed on the river to catch aquatic products, called “ro cho” by Quang Nam people. Inspired by the image of the “ro cho”, the joint venture developed a design for the Kim Bong Bridge to participate in the competition.
According to this idea, the Kim Bong 1 and 2 bridges will create architectural highlights, landscapes, green spaces, synchronous infrastructure and landscape connections to serve the travel needs of the people, connecting the old town with newly developing urban areas and traditional carpentry villages, forming an experiential discovery tourism route. After the competition, Hoi An City and the second prize-winning unit will take the next steps to prepare an investment dossier to build the Kim Bong bridge.
