Brussels Book Fair 2025 celebrates literature, focuses on young readers

The Brussels Book Fair 2025 is a gathering place for many famous domestic and foreign authors with big names such as Philippe Besson, David Foenkinos, Amélie Nothomb, Daniel Kehlmann and many others.

The Brussels Book Fair, a highly anticipated annual cultural event, takes place from 13-16 March at Tour & Taxis under the theme "Living in the World ".

This year's event offers a diverse and rich cultural space, where literature in all its forms is celebrated and a special focus is placed on young people.

With more than 300 activities, the fair is a place for readers to explore the relationship between humans and the living world, reality and human solidarity.

The event programme includes conferences, debates and professional meetings, focusing on the transformation of the publishing industry and the role of books in society.

A highlight of the 2025 fair is its special focus on young people. Two days of training for teachers and librarians on children’s literature, along with a day for students majoring in translation, demonstrate the organizers’ efforts to foster a love of reading and develop the capacity of future generations.

"Family Village", a new space at the Maritime Terminal, offers readings, workshops and fun activities for young readers.

Within the framework of the fair, the program "From books to screens" took place, a professional forum for filmmakers and publishers to discuss the adaptation of books into movies and television series.

Visitors have the opportunity to explore a wide range of literature, from romance novels, detective novels, science fiction to manga comics. Display areas are designed specifically for each genre, catering to every reader's interests.

Since its inception in 1969, the Brussels Book Fair has become an important annual event in the cultural life of the Belgian people.

The fair attracts an average of 75,000-80,000 visitors each year, including about 6,000 students, 2,500 industry professionals and 1,200 authors.
