Phuc Yen City Red Cross Association currently has 9 grassroots Red Cross Associations in communes and wards and 3 high school Red Cross Associations with 89 branches and 37 school branches. The total number of Red Cross members is more than 4,800 members, 2 volunteer teams, 7 volunteer clubs with 236 volunteers participating in regular activities.
Promoting the tradition of charity and the core role in humanitarian activities, the Phuc Yen City Red Cross Association has implemented many programs with far-reaching effects. Every year, thousands of disadvantaged people, poor households, Agent Orange victims, children in special circumstances, etc. are given more confidence and motivation thanks to the care and sharing from the Association and philanthropists.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Association has successfully launched and organized many programs and movements, typically the "Humanitarian Tet" movement in the spring of At Ty 2025 to help the poor, people in especially difficult circumstances, victims of Agent Orange, people with disabilities and orphans in the area. As a result, more than 2,300 Tet gifts were given to the poor, victims of Agent Orange, people with disabilities and orphans with a total value of nearly 1.2 billion VND.
In addition, the Association has consulted with the City People's Committee to develop the "Humanitarian Month 2025" Plan to propagate, raise awareness, arouse compassion among people of all walks of life and the responsibility of Party committees at all levels, authorities, and social forces in humanitarian work and Red Cross activities, building a united and compassionate community.
The Association has maintained the operation of the charity kitchen; humanitarian porridge pot at the Transport Hospital, Phuc Yen Regional General Hospital, Central Hospital 74 and Vinh Phuc Provincial Mental Hospital every morning from Wednesday to Friday, serving more than 5,500 free meals of rice, porridge and milk.
The Phuc Yen Red Cross Volunteer Team regularly gives gifts to disadvantaged children in the area, to patients with especially difficult circumstances at the Traffic Hospital; to poor and disadvantaged households, orphans, and poor students who have overcome difficulties in the area, with a total value of more than 100 million VND.
The Ward Red Cross Associations also regularly organize charity activities, visit and give gifts to orphans and families in difficult circumstances...
In parallel with relief work and caring for people's lives, the Phuc Yen City Red Cross Society also focuses on other regular humanitarian activities such as voluntary blood donation. Since the beginning of 2025, the Society has organized 3 voluntary blood donation campaigns with over 800 people registering to donate blood, resulting in 526 units of safe blood.
Charitable activities in Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang provinces; supporting poor fishermen in Quang Ngai province... are actively implemented by the CTĐ volunteer team in coordination with volunteer clubs inside and outside the city. The total value of the Association's foreign affairs activities up to now is about 300 million VND.
The Association also focuses on training the capacity of its staff and members, and improving the quality of the Association's organization. Training courses on first aid, disaster prevention, resource mobilization skills, etc. are held regularly, contributing to building a team of professional, courageous and dedicated humanitarian staff and volunteers. Thanks to that, when natural disasters occur or when there is an emergency, the Association is always the pioneer force, promptly stepping in to support the people.
President of Phuc Yen City Red Cross Association Bui Thi Huong Hai said: “Building on the achieved results, in the coming time, the City Red Cross Association will continue to widely implement humanitarian and charitable activities. Focus on guiding communes and wards to make a list of disadvantaged people and upload it to the province's INhandao system. Mobilize resources to build Red Cross Houses for the poor and people with special difficulties in the city.
Maintain the operation of charity kitchens and humanitarian porridge pots at hospitals; maintain well the Association's activities and humanitarian and charitable models; organize medical examinations, consultations and provide free medicine for victims of Agent Orange, policy families, the poor and the elderly in the area; promote visiting and gift-giving activities on War Invalids and Martyrs Day July 27, Action Month for Agent Orange victims...
Coordinate with the Fatherland Front Committee of Phuc Yen city to guide units to review and build new houses and repair houses for poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households, helping them stabilize their lives.
