Ba Ngan Bridge (also known as Duy Phuoc Bridge) is located on National Highway 14H, spanning over 200 meters across the Thu Bon River. It serves as a major route for people traveling from Xuyen Duyen district to the Hoi An area (formerly Quang Nam province , now Da Nang city).
During the historic floods at the end of October, the rising, fast-flowing floodwaters caused the Hoi An side of the bridge abutment to completely collapse.
The road leading from the bridge to Hoi An was also devastated by the floodwaters, with landslides in many places. The floodwaters also destroyed the embankment system on both sides of the bridge abutments, creating large gaps right at the base of the bridge.
The bridge is the main route for people traveling between the two localities, especially for those involved in trade and services in Nam Phuoc commune who go to Hoi An.
When the bridge collapsed, the entire transportation system for thousands of residents and workers was disrupted.
Many people have to take detours via inconvenient routes, doubling or even tripling their travel time compared to before.

In November 2025, the Da Nang City Department of Construction issued an emergency construction order for the project to repair and restore the access road to Duy Phuoc Bridge (Ba Ngan Bridge), which was severely damaged by the heavy rains and floods from October 26th.
According to the technical plan, due to the area's terrain causing widened waterways and severe erosion, the city will construct a temporary bridge extending from the eastern abutment of the existing bridge to replace the section of the approach road that has been washed away.
The temporary bridge is expected to have 3 steel girder spans, with a total length of 30m and a width of 3.5m; including a 3m bridge deck and 0.25m railings and curbs on each side. The approach road will be reinforced with gabions or steel piles.
The project is designed to accommodate motorcycles and cars weighing under 2.5 tons. The estimated cost is approximately 3 billion VND, and construction is expected to be completed before December 31st.
According to Tuoi Tre Online 's observations on the morning of December 15th, many workers of the One-Member Limited Liability Company for Traffic Management and Construction (the construction unit) are urgently working on repairing the bridge, and the steel girder spans have already been installed.
Mr. Tran Mau Hai, the company director, said that the unit started repairing the bridge on November 25th and is expected to complete it by December 31st. The unit is currently constructing a 30m temporary bridge with steel girders, ensuring that motorbikes and cars under 2.5 tons can pass through.
"We are trying to complete the construction before Christmas to serve the public's transportation needs," Mr. Hai said.
