The 5th Conference of the Red River Delta Coordination Council

(BTV) On the morning of January 14, at the Hanoi Party Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Regional Coordination Council, chaired the 5th meeting of the Red River Delta Regional Coordination Council with the theme: "Double-digit economic growth: The Red River Delta pioneers entering a new era".

Delegates from Bac Ninh province attended the conference with comrades: Nguyen Anh Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Conference overview

The conference heard a report on the results of implementing the tasks in 2024 and the 2025 action plan of the Red River Delta Coordination Council. It noted some outstanding results of the region in 2024, the economic growth rate of the region reached 7.9%, ranking 2nd out of 6 economic regions of the country. The total budget revenue of the region reached 815.65 trillion VND, the highest contribution among economic regions and accounting for 40.1% of the total budget revenue of the whole country, an increase of more than 12.8% compared to the estimate assigned by the Prime Minister. Export turnover reached about 132 billion USD, leading the economic regions, accounting for nearly 32.5% of the total export value of the whole country. Attracting foreign investment in the region had a strong breakthrough with a total registered investment capital of 20 billion USD. There are 04 localities in the region in the top 5 nationwide, of which Bac Ninh leads the country with a total registered investment capital of nearly 5.12 billion USD.

The conference also discussed solutions to remove bottlenecks, unlock resources, and promote sustainable development in the Red River Delta region.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested localities to identify breakthrough goals for the coming period; Proactively and flexibly resolve difficulties and challenges, and maximize opportunities for development. Develop innovation centers, form an innovation ecosystem, and actively attract investment focusing on industries with high added value. Focus on implementing Politburo Resolutions related to regional and inter-regional socio-economic development... in parallel with focusing on developing high-quality human resources.

Focus on promoting the disbursement of public investment capital from the beginning of 2025, taking public investment as the leading factor, activating social investment, promoting public-private partnership; Timely review and remove difficulties and obstacles for each project, especially important national projects and works, national target programs to accelerate the implementation of strategic transport projects, airports, seaports, highways, inter-regional and inter-provincial projects, etc. The Prime Minister affirmed: The Government always accompanies localities in promoting socio-economic development. The Prime Minister requested members of the Regional Coordination Council to promote a sense of responsibility, find breakthrough solutions for regional development, overcome the limitations and shortcomings raised in the previous session, propose creative and breakthrough solutions, contributing to the completion of the double-digit growth target for the Red River Delta region.
